The white-robed elder cleared his throat twice but didn't take the banner from Shi Lan's hands. Turning around, he said with an inscrutable expression, "Would you like to know who I really am?"

"I'd rather not." Shi Lan shook her head decisively.

"Weren't you interested in my name just a moment ago?" The elder's expression froze, and he asked in surprise.

"Senior doesn't wish to say, so you must have your reasons. I'm not curious anymore." Shi Lan spoke with a serious expression, secretly wondering how she ought to respond if this man came right out and said what he wanted.

She had known the elder for only two days and had no idea what his temperament was like. If she refused him outright, he might lose face, and that could lead to trouble.

"My Dao title is Extreme Cloud. I have a little fame outside, and everyone calls me Extreme Cloud High Person. Surely you've heard of me."

His tone was calm, but inwardly the elder sighed. He hadn't expected he would still have to reveal his identity in the end. Once he gave his name, this young woman would surely be overjoyed.
