Before the words had even faded, a figure had appeared in the reception hall. It was Shi Feng, whom they had met only recently.

Shi Feng was still dressed in the same black brocade robe. Though only a few days had passed, his strength had improved once more. A faint blade-glint flickered in his eyes, and the invisible aura surrounding him was sharp as a blade. He was like a cold sword just drawn from its sheath, its edge fully bared.

"The Shengwu Immortal Sect opened the Shengwu Realm two days ago, ushering all its True Disciples and a number of inner disciples inside. You're a step too late."

"How did you get in?"

Shi Lan frowned and rose to her feet, her tone unfriendly.

After Shi Feng left last time, Shi Tianlu had given orders throughout the mansion: no one was to enter without being announced, not even someone from the Shengwu Immortal Sect.

Since no one had announced his arrival to her, Shi Feng's appearance here could only mean that he hadn't come through the proper channels.

Shi Lan disliked any uninvited guest who dared barge into her home. Shi Feng was no exception.

The moment Shi Lan spoke, Shi Feng reined in his sharp aura and slowly raised a hand. Clutched in his palm was a black token engraved with the character "Shi."

"Though I joined the Shengwu Immortal Sect, the clan head never took back my token. I'm still a Shi Clan shadow guard."

Seeing Shi Lan's expression, Shi Feng shook his head and explained. He really had entered using the token; he hadn't forced his way in.
