Background / History
Shi Feng was an orphan rescued from a snowstorm by Shi Tianlu, who gave him the Shi surname, food, shelter, and a place in Shi Manor. He spent fifteen years there training in martial arts and carrying out assignments from the patriarch. Five years before the story, Shi Tianlu ordered him to serve as Shi Lan’s hidden guard; through watching her from the shadows, Shi Feng came to admire her endurance and gentleness. 7 12
Shi Tianlu recognized Shi Feng’s exceptional potential and offered him a rare candidacy for the Shengwu Immortal Sect. Shi Feng refused, insisting that he did not wish to leave Shi Manor. His attachment was not merely to the manor itself, but to Shi Lan. 7
While Shi Lan began cultivating, Shi Feng secretly intervened to save her when she collapsed from pain, using his internal energy to circulate her blood and vitality. He later accompanied her outside the manor, harshly punished Xu Yuanbai for insulting her, and was personally recruited by Shi Lan to follow her. 8 10
After Shi Lan fled Tenglong City, Shi Feng obeyed Shi Tianlu’s concealed order to protect her from afar rather than force her return. He eventually revealed himself during their journey, fought alongside her against demonic beasts, and was gravely injured after confronting the Beast Tide and an overwhelmingly stronger opponent. 33 36 38 39
Shi Lan brought the critically injured Shi Feng to Shuangyue City for treatment. Though his meridians and internal organs were severely damaged, he survived. Shi Lan later ensured his evacuation aboard the Cloudsoar Battleship by knocking him unconscious and entrusting him to Tang Yan’s care. 39 40 52
At Immortal Martial City, Shi Feng’s condensed Great Momentum attracted the attention of Elder Han and Luo Xiuhan. He became Luo Xiuhan’s disciple after searching for Shi Lan in the ruined cities of Shuangyue and Tenglong, then entered the Boundless Demon Domain to repair his blade intent and recover from his injuries. 75 76
Appearance
Shi Feng is initially described as clean-cut and harmless-looking, a contrast to the ruthless efficiency of his fighting style. He is later seen in black brocade robes and carrying a black saber, with an increasingly sharp and oppressive blade aura. 10 245
- Often wears dark martial robes or black brocade clothing. 36 245
- Carries a saber as his primary weapon. 35 36
- His cultivated Great Momentum gives him the presence of a drawn blade. 245
- His appearance remains recognizable to Shi Lan after nearly two years apart, though his demeanor and strength change substantially. 216
Personality
Shi Feng is defined by loyalty, gratitude, and a strong sense of duty. He considers Shi Tianlu’s rescue and upbringing a second birth, and repeatedly places the Shi Family’s safety above his own opportunities or desires. 7 75
In battle, he is fearless and ruthless. He will confront opponents far stronger than himself to protect Shi Lan, even after recognizing that victory is unlikely. His resolve can condense into a powerful Great Momentum, but this same intensity leaves him vulnerable to emotional turmoil surrounding Shi Lan. 36 37 38 338
He is capable of restraint. When provoked by a Holy Martial Immortal Sect disciple, Shi Feng suppresses his urge to kill because acting would endanger Tang Yan and her child. He later leaves the sect’s Holy Martial Realm to repay what he believes are two lives owed to the Shi Family. 75 242
Shi Feng’s feelings for Shi Lan are enduring but largely unreciprocated. Even after learning that the Shi Lan he knew had died, he remains unable to abandon his attachment, though he gradually accepts the vast difference between them. 223 245 400
