Supporting Lin Xiao

Du Busi watches Lin Xiao spar with Long Aotian and praises the combat strength he displays with only level 23 Soul Power. He later witnesses Lin Xiao’s Golden Core martial soul awakening. Lao Yao leaves a revised Body Sect secret technique for Du Busi, making awakening easier and reducing its harmful side effects by more than half 30 41.

His regard for Lin Xiao extends beyond ordinary instruction: he addresses him as “brother,” discusses outside training with him, and offers him a place on the Heaven Dou Empire’s tournament team. He also orders Yu Tao to provide Body Sect backing for Lin Xiao’s auction purchases 42 54 74.

Investigating Shrek and Soul Tools

Du Busi visits Shrek Academy to probe Mu En’s health and investigate Soul Tools. Mu En’s restraint under repeated insults convinces him that the older man has no more than three years left to live. He also notices Huo Yuhao’s eye-type Body Martial Soul, but distrusts the prospect of a Shrek student joining the Body Sect and gaining access to its secrets 52.

He then secretly investigates the Sun Moon Empire. Its Soul Tools confirm Lin Xiao’s warning that technology can threaten even Limit Douluo. On returning, he orders the Body Sect to develop Soul Tools, appointing Lang Ya to lead the work and Jin Peng to assist. He promises funding and personnel, and supports Weina’s proposed studies because her Brain Martial Soul suits the field—provided she agrees 53.

Earth Dragon Gate and the Sea Hunt

At Lin Xiao’s request, Du Busi travels to Dragon City and contacts Nan Shui Shui. His attempt to bring the Earth Dragon Gate into the Body Sect fails, but he continues negotiating for Lin Xiao to enter its secret realm. Nan Shui Shui proposes exchanging access for protection during a future existential crisis 86 87.

After Lin Xiao’s six-month seclusion, Du Busi accompanies him to hunt a hundred-thousand-year fourth soul ring. He initially offers to fight the Abyssal Demon Manta himself, then allows Lin Xiao to test his strength under his protection. He blocks the beast’s escape, subdues it after the Fire Lotus explosion, and discovers that his disciple has concealed a second martial soul 91 92.

Learning of the Undead Demiplane

Lin Xiao introduces Du Busi to Bi Ji and brings him into the Undead Demiplane to meet Electrolux. Learning that Lin Xiao intends to attack the God Realm gives Du Busi a clearer understanding of the importance of his disciple’s growth 100.

He suggests relocating the Body Sect into the developing world and accepts Lin Xiao’s reasoning for withholding widespread distribution of the Soul Spirit Method. Their longer-term plans involve cooperation with soul beasts and a possible replacement of Douluo’s cultivation system. Nevertheless, he agrees to explain the method to Long Aotian when Lin Xiao entrusts it to him 101 103.

Humiliating Shrek

Believing Mu En dead, Du Busi arrives at Shrek with a giant bell, wreaths, and cooks to hold a celebratory feast. He rings the bell eighty-one times and guards the gathering from above 110.

When Shrek’s elders confront his group, he attacks Yan Shaozhe and brutally defeats Xuan Zi. He then threatens to cripple Yan Shaozhe and Xian Lin’er unless Shrek pays compensation. His demands include one hundred-thousand-year soul bone, ten soul bones at least fifty thousand years old, and thirty top-grade Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. Shrek pays, and he leaves delighted with the proceeds 111 113 114.

Capturing Xuan Zi

After Xuan Zi becomes an Evil Soul Master, Du Busi agrees to cooperate with Kong Deming and the Sun Moon Empire in hunting him. A proposed spar with the Evil Emperor is interrupted before it begins 145 146.

Du Busi joins Lin Xiao, the Evil Emperor, and the Snow Empress in tracking Xuan Zi to the Heaven Spirit Empire. He activates his Martial Soul True Body and Golden awakening, then overwhelms Xuan Zi with punches and two Ninth Soul Skills. He delivers the captive to the Sun Moon Empire as part of a plan to draw Shrek into a public confrontation 148 149.

At the ensuing gathering, he helps Lin Xiao and the Evil Emperor expose Yan Shaozhe’s descent from Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui. His displayed strength discourages Long Xiaoyao from fighting him. Jing Hongchen later gives him Xuan Zi’s soul bone as his share of the spoils 154 155 156.

War and Continental Expansion

Du Busi assists in the Demon Emperor hunt, fighting alongside the Snow Empress and Sea Princess. His Golden awakening and Ninth Soul Skill help severely injure and contain her before Lin Xiao delivers the killing attack 164 165.

When the Five Gods descend, he allows wavering factions to leave the Body Sect’s side, but considers their choices final. He subsequently helps absorb friendly factions and manage sect affairs with Xiao Xiao and Zhang Lexuan 195 204.

During the theft of Shrek’s Golden Ancient Tree, Du Busi stalls the academy and fights Dai Mubai. Although Dai Mubai asks for a staged fight, Du Busi attacks seriously, using his Golden awakening, dual soul cores, Ultimate Poison, and level 99 strength 212 213.

He later proposes a sequence for continental conquest and devises a three-pronged campaign targeting Shrek Academy, the Sacred Spirit Sect, and the Sun Moon Empire. He and Lin Xiao lead the main force against Shrek. Afterward, he participates in the destruction of the Earth Dragon Gate and the purge of Shrek-affiliated sects 215 224 225 233.

His aggression is tempered by calculation. He probes Mu En’s condition before pushing further, investigates the Sun Moon Empire discreetly, and abandons the Body Sect’s outdated resistance to Soul Tools after seeing their power. Once given an escape route through the Undead Demiplane, he prefers preserving himself and the sect to fighting a hopeless last stand 52 53 129.

He is protective of his disciples and takes pride in their growth. He checks whether Lin Xiao can safely absorb an exceptional soul ring, encourages Long Aotian’s training, and supports instruction suited to Weina’s abilities. Against enemies such as Xuan Zi, however, he is merciless and combines physical violence with sustained mockery 53 91 148 149 156.
