Ch. 443The Fishman Who Wouldn't Die (30/96)

Liu Zhi and his allies used the life-restoring flowers to fight the Fishman, while the mage secretly prepared an ice attack. The Fishman’s charge toward Liu Zhi ended when the mage’s ice balls expanded inside its throat, leaving it choking on the ground.

  • Liu Zhi told everyone to stand on the flowers, whose life force restored them and strengthened Dorkat.
  • Dorkat drew the Fishman’s attention while Karishi attacked its legs, and Liu Zhi and Kapuda repeatedly blasted off its arms.
  • The mage sent seemingly harmless ice balls toward the Fishman’s mouth while the others kept attacking its limbs.
  • The Fishman charged at Liu Zhi, but the mage’s ice balls expanded in its throat and made it collapse, clutching its neck.

Ch. 444The Bloody Battle

Liu Zhi and his allies trapped and attacked the Fishman, but the Fishman transformed himself and threw the battle into chaos. Liu Zhi fought the smaller Fishman that burst from the Fishman’s scalp while the others watched in confusion.

  • The mage trapped the Fishman’s mouth in an Ice Coffin, but the Fishman tore away part of his neck and escaped.
  • Liu Zhi stabbed the Fishman’s wounded neck, but the Fishman’s rapid healing left Liu Zhi in danger until Videnina cut off the Fishman’s reaching arm and drove him back with Wind Blades.
  • The Jiao Wei, Kapuda, and the thief tried to bind the Fishman with vines and crossbow bolts, but the Fishman broke his arm and grew a new one, becoming a six-armed monster.
  • Liu Zhi struck the Fishman with lightning and rushed in to retrieve his embedded sword, but the Fishman tore a smaller Fishman’s head from his scalp.
  • Liu Zhi grabbed the smaller Fishman, then shoved it down and smashed its head with the Death Long Staff as Kapuda and the others stared in confusion.

Ch. 445Life Force Out of Control

Liu Zhi and his allies tried to stop the Fishman as its uncontrolled life force transformed it into a massive, many-headed creature. Liu Zhi became trapped on its head just as a bone-white arm seized him during his attempt to escape.

  • Videnina attacked the Fishman’s detached head while the Jiao Wei dragged its body away from Liu Zhi.
  • The Fishman’s life force surged out of control, growing its body and sprouting extra heads and limbs that attacked Liu Zhi.
  • The Fishman grew to eighteen meters and charged Liu Zhi, knocking Videnina and Dorkat aside when they intervened.
  • Liu Zhi used Eternal Night Sword Curtain to stab the Fishman’s largest head while Videnina’s Wind Blades wounded it.
  • New flesh and limbs trapped Liu Zhi, and a bone-white arm grabbed him as he tried to escape with Sun Trail.

Ch. 446Captured

Liu Zhi was dragged inside the Fishman and used Natural Breath Meditation to absorb its life energy, while his companions tried to stop it from returning to the pit. With the Fishman’s flesh crushing him and the Death Long Staff nearing its limit, Liu Zhi sensed something in his backpack and began channeling the excess life force into it.

  • The Fishman seized Liu Zhi and the Sun Chariot with skeletal arms, dragging them into its body.
  • Liu Zhi practiced Natural Breath Meditation to absorb the Fishman’s life energy and transfer the excess into the Death Long Staff.
  • Videnina attacked the Fishman from outside as Kapuda, Dorkat, the mage, and the Jiao Wei tried to keep it from reaching the pit.
  • The Fishman pressed toward the pit to restore itself with the Life Essence while Liu Zhi struggled against the crushing flesh inside it.
  • Liu Zhi felt a cool, watery sensation from his backpack and poured the life energy he absorbed into it.

Ch. 447Big Boss (32/96)

Liu Zhi escaped the dead Fishman and learned that the group had defeated Devourer Mutannus, saving Inalarex and the Rogar'a plane. After receiving a blessing and hearing the mission’s full story, Liu Zhi claimed the first piece of loot Kapuda found.

  • Liu Zhi blasted a hole through the Fishman and escaped, discovering that it was dead outside.
  • Inalarex rewarded Liu Zhi and the others with a dream blessing, and Liu Zhi gained four attribute points.
  • Kapuda searched the Fishman’s corpse while Dorkat explained that the group had stopped Devourer Mutannus from taking over Inalarex.
  • Dorkat told Liu Zhi that Devourer Mutannus had sought to control Inalarex and help the Fishman Empire attack the Rogar'a plane.
  • Kapuda found five pieces of player equipment, and Liu Zhi immediately claimed the first item.

Ch. 448Opening the Corpse

Kapuda distributed the Fishman's drops, and the group bid on items that appeared differently to each person. After Dorkat claimed the sapphire and the thief took a bone that became a dagger belt, Kapuda revealed another item that Liu Zhi thought he could use.

  • Liu Zhi, Dorkat, the thief, and Kapuda each wanted the sapphire for different abilities, so Kapuda proposed bidding for it.
  • Liu Zhi stopped bidding, and Dorkat eventually won the sapphire and fused it into his shield, which steadily restored his health.
  • Kapuda pulled a bone from the Fishman's corpse, and the thief claimed it after Kapuda passed.
  • The thief twisted the bone into a belt and hung his many daggers from it, making all but two disappear.
  • Kapuda picked up another item, and Liu Zhi realized he could use it.

Ch. 449Breastplate

Liu Zhi claimed Mutannus's Flesh Breastplate after seeing a vision that made him feel the armor belonged to him. Kapuda passed on another item to gain priority over the final piece of loot, and the chapter ended with the rogue letting Kapuda take it.

  • Kapuda pulled a Fishman's arm from the corpse, and it transformed into Leather Armor in Liu Zhi's hands.
  • Liu Zhi received and equipped the C-rank Mutannus's Flesh Breastplate, which restored health and could grant temporary combat bonuses.
  • Kapuda took a lump of writhing flesh that sprouted plants and flowers, then passed on it despite its apparent value.
  • Liu Zhi and the rogue realized Kapuda's choice gave him priority over the final item, and Liu Zhi considered challenging him if it was something he wanted.
  • Kapuda revealed the final piece of equipment and called it at least C+ quality, and the rogue passed so Kapuda could take it.

Ch. 450The Cause (33/96)

Liu Zhi gave up a C+ set piece in exchange for a lump of flesh, then decided to leave the game rather than join Kapuda and the others in searching for optional bosses Skam and Kresh. As he returned Videnina’s Jiao Wei to his Nether Palace and completed his missions, he received a shocking prompt about the Fate Diamond Statue.

  • Liu Zhi accepted the thief’s advice and traded away the C+ set piece for the lump of flesh, learning he had forfeited a share of the equipment they could have obtained for the set.
  • Kapuda and the others planned to investigate Skam and Kresh, while Liu Zhi chose to leave the game and forgo any loot from their possible fight.
  • Liu Zhi gathered Videnina’s Jiao Wei, warned them that they would become his subordinates in the Nether Palace, and sent them inside after they pledged allegiance.
  • Liu Zhi completed his basic, VIP, and shared missions and received their reward packs.
  • Liu Zhi saw a prompt asking whether he wanted to transform the Fate Diamond Statue into a Child of Destiny.

Ch. 451Child of Destiny (34/96)

Liu Zhi discovered that the mutated Destiny Diamond Statue could let him create an avatar using his divinity, vitality, and the Flying Serpent's body. He began the process by bringing out the statue and corpse, then prepared to give the avatar part of his identity.

  • Liu Zhi learned that his mutated Destiny Diamond Statue had granted him the chance to create an avatar, though success depended on his actions.
  • Liu Zhi realized he had the required divinity, statue, Flying Serpent corpse, and vitality, and considered using his own and Sandru's identities.
  • Liu Zhi followed the instructions and removed the glowing Destiny Diamond Statue and Flying Serpent corpse from his backpack.
  • The Flying Serpent's vitality flowed into the floating statue as the corpse circled it.
  • Liu Zhi began stripping away part of his identity by sending the Crystal Skull representing the Necromancer above the statue.

Ch. 452Sandru, the Duplicate

Liu Zhi completed a necromancer duplicate by giving the skull-headed body the identity Sandru Ainfaster. Sandru merged into Liu Zhi, and Liu Zhi confirmed that the duplicate had its own Level 2 status and could grow alongside him.

  • The Flying Serpent's life force and the diamond statue's light formed a skull-headed body holding a duplicate Death Long Staff.
  • Liu Zhi realized the body and staff were copies whose cultivation and benefits would transfer to their originals.
  • Liu Zhi entered the body, named it Sandru Ainfaster, and established it as his duplicate.
  • Sandru turned the flesh from Kapuda into a black mage's robe and merged into Liu Zhi.
  • Liu Zhi checked his status panel and saw Sandru listed as Duplicate No. 1, a Level 2 Necromancer.

Ch. 453The Demiplane Had Arrived

Liu Zhi returned from the game early and met Node Prince Alfred, who delivered the Demiplane he had ordered. They headed toward the Nether Palace to connect it to the Demiplane, but Alfred warned that the Kodo Beasts' Burial Grounds had too many entrances to defend.

  • Liu Zhi left the Mattrib Guild headquarters after explaining that Kapuda and the other players had stayed behind to investigate two hidden bosses.
  • On his way to the Kodo Beasts' Burial Grounds, Liu Zhi met Node Prince Alfred, who said he had brought the completed Demiplane.
  • Alfred explained that the Demiplane was attached to the Rogar'a plane and could be moved, while upgrading it into a plane would detach it automatically.
  • Alfred transported Liu Zhi to the Kodo Beasts' Burial Grounds and warned him that its many entrances would make the Demiplane passage difficult to defend.
  • Liu Zhi asked Alfred how much it would cost to establish a passage into the Demiplane.

Ch. 454Choosing a Site (35/96)

Liu Zhi reviewed the map of his Demiplane, chose a contested plain as the site for the Nether Palace, and tasked Rust Bone with establishing a camp in the Kodo Beasts' Burial Grounds. Rust Bone selected a defensible pair of platforms near a passage exit, and the Node Prince began preparing the site.

  • The Node Prince showed Liu Zhi a map of the Demiplane, including its resources and twenty-one settlements of native inhabitants that Liu Zhi would have to deal with himself.
  • Liu Zhi chose the plain crossed by a river as the site for the Nether Palace, despite its exposed position, because it offered room for future development.
  • Liu Zhi assigned Rust Bone to plan and manage a camp near a passage through the Kodo Beasts' Burial Grounds.
  • Rust Bone selected two raised platforms near a tunnel and proposed using the rear platform for the passage and main camp, linked to the front platform by a drawbridge.
  • The Node Prince accepted the location and began work there.

Ch. 455Shuttling Around (36/96)

Liu Zhi established Toras Camp and set up a Shuttle Orb linking it to the Nether Palace, then moved the palace into the Demiplane. With the Node Prince’s work complete, Liu Zhi used the Eye of Horus to provide the Demiplane with a sun.

  • The Node Prince built a Shuttle Orb linked to a matching node and warned Liu Zhi not to move it.
  • Liu Zhi left Rust Bone in charge of the outpost, named it Toras Camp, and supplied troops, resources, Skeleton Laborers, and zombie miners.
  • Liu Zhi stopped Nasha from attacking the Jiao Wei and ordered them to follow the Corpse Soul Naga for now.
  • The Node Prince moved the Nether Palace to a site between a river, a glacier, and a mountain, then placed its linked Shuttle Orb outside the eastern gate.
  • Liu Zhi raised the Eye of Horus to serve as the Demiplane’s sun after the Node Prince departed.

Ch. 456The Nether Palace Arrangements

Liu Zhi arranged new defenses, buildings, and resources across his Demiplane, then prepared to open the mission’s shared treasure chests. The chapter ended with Red Gloves about to open six chests for Liu Zhi.

  • Liu Zhi set the Eye of Horus circling the Nether Palace so the palace remained in perpetual daylight, and the Node Prince left the Demiplane.
  • Liu Zhi explained Sandru’s situation to Amanet and assigned Sandru to manage Fireblade City while he handled the Demiplane.
  • Liu Zhi gave the Silk Thread Assassin Training Manual to the Spinning Fate Spider Woman and Letoz, then built the Snow Woman Ice Palace and Exoskeleton Armor Factory.
  • Liu Zhi and Amanet discussed using different undead as the Exoskeleton Armor Factory’s base and armor, while Liu Zhi planted Venomous Snake Flowers alongside Namuda’s fruit.
  • Liu Zhi summoned Red Gloves and offered him one Universal Currency for each of six treasure chests he opened.

Ch. 457Opening the Treasure Chest

Liu Zhi opened several gift packs and examined the blueprints and other rewards Red Gloves’s luck had helped secure. He sent the Venomous Tent blueprint to Rust Bone and decided to build the Bordeaux Goblin Tavern and Mutant Beast Pen.

  • Red Gloves opened the gift packs, and Liu Zhi rewarded him with ten Universal Currency for the lucky haul.
  • Liu Zhi examined the Venomous Tent blueprint and sent Sandru to deliver it to Rust Bone, leaving the choice of camp function to him.
  • Liu Zhi decided to build the Bordeaux Goblin Tavern after learning it would produce wine and attract certain heroes.
  • Liu Zhi inspected the Mutant Beast Pen blueprint and decided to build it because its output would supply materials for several Secondary Professions.

Ch. 458The New Servants (37/96)

Liu Zhi built the new structures from his blueprints and examined the Undead Servants found in his treasure chests. He recruited a Bone-Eating Giant Lizard for the front line and a Botanist to cultivate plants.

  • Liu Zhi learned that the Flying Serpent Nest could produce eggs and give Flying Serpents a chance to develop into Feathered Serpents.
  • Liu Zhi built each of his new structures at level 1 because he lacked enough materials to upgrade them all.
  • Liu Zhi found a gold-quality Bone-Eating Giant Lizard statue among his class equipment and summoned the level-one warrior.
  • The Bone-Eating Giant Lizard challenged Videnina, and Liu Zhi decided to send it to the battlefield's front line so it could grow through combat.
  • Liu Zhi examined a Fine-quality Botanist statue and summoned the plant-loving Skeleton Soldier, whose armor carried seeds and seedlings.

Ch. 459A Nice Haul (38/96)

Liu Zhi gained a Flesh Trap, an expandable backpack pouch, and a group of goblin residents. He asked the Goblin Pathfinder to find intact Engineering Goblins while the Blackwater Goblins nearby offered their own engineering skills.

  • Liu Zhi ordered the Flesh Trap to catch birds, preferably eagles, and watched it run off.
  • Liu Zhi attached the Undead Expandable Pouch to his backpack, adding 20 slots and five quick-access slots.
  • Liu Zhi summoned eleven goblin sailors led by a Goblin Pathfinder, who offered to sell them to the Blackwater Goblins.
  • Liu Zhi asked the Goblin Pathfinder to find Engineering Goblins with intact bodies and promised extra payment.
  • The Blackwater Goblins surrounded Liu Zhi and offered their engineering skills, but he preferred to hire specialists.

Ch. 460The Chests Were All Opened

Liu Zhi examined the quest rewards, including a Fusang Wood seed, a venom-filled cup, and a squad of elite Executioners. He discovered the class skill Soul Extraction and left to find Red Gloves.

  • Liu Zhi gave the Fusang Wood seed to the botanist to plant in the city.
  • Liu Zhi inspected the Cup of Deadly Poison and decided to set it aside rather than analyze its mixed venom.
  • Liu Zhi summoned five Level 10 elite Executioners and recognized their strength.
  • Liu Zhi considered protecting Red Gloves and picked up the final statue.
  • Liu Zhi discovered the Soul Extraction class skill, which let him seal extracted souls inside suitable objects.

Ch. 461A New Hero in the Tavern

Liu Zhi inspected the newly built Nether Palace structures and learned that the Goblin Tavern and Salted Fish Tavern could attract recruitable heroes. After refusing the Blackwater Goblins’ request to regulate their trade, he found a level-one skeleton hero and a level-one Fishman hero waiting in the taverns.

  • Liu Zhi saw that the Mutated Beast Beast Pen and Flying Serpent Nest had changed subtly after being built near the former giant dragon’s hill.
  • Blackwater Goblin shipowners complained that Tie Shuan had bought all the goblin sailors brought by a Goblin Pathfinder, but Liu Zhi refused to help them.
  • Liu Zhi and Amanet discussed how he should manage the different races in the Nether Palace, and the goblins returned to their Sun Boats and set sail.
  • Liu Zhi entered the Goblin Tavern and learned that Jian Gu Duo Te was a level-one combat-type hero with Defense Enhancement, available to recruit for 1,500 Universal Currency.
  • Liu Zhi visited the Salted Fish Tavern, where Duan Xu, a level-one combat-type Fishman hero with Underwater Combat, was also available to recruit for 1,500 Universal Currency.

Ch. 462Nasha's Intentions

Liu Zhi assigned the newly purchased Fishman Duan Xu to Nasha and sent Jian Gu Duo Te to train under Mand. Nasha, threatened by Duan Xu’s arrival, secretly resolved to become a player and make the Dead Lake Fishmen dependent on him.

  • Liu Zhi showed Duan Xu the Underworld Sea Area and told Nasha to recruit fishman Professionals for Duan Xu’s combat units.
  • Liu Zhi sent Jian Gu Duo Te to Mand to learn city defense and help guard the city while his troops were assembled.
  • Nasha returned underwater without acknowledging Duan Xu and called his five guards, whom he planned to train as elite fishman warriors.
  • Nasha realized the Dead Lake Fishmen followed the Nether Palace more than they followed him, and he began plotting to rise beyond being a fishman hero.
  • Nasha diverted Life Spring water to his guards and secretly gathered nearly a hundred promising Dead Lake Fishmen by reporting their eggs as dead.
  • Fearing Liu Zhi had assigned Duan Xu to replace him, Nasha decided he would prove the Dead Lake Fishmen needed him.
