Obito infiltrated Kirigakure but was trapped when a sound-based monster disrupted Kamui and Menos Grande attacked him. Meanwhile, the Chunin Ninja Exams began their team matches in Sunagakure, where Kirigakure faced Kumogakure and Yuki Yoru noticed the disguised Amegakure team watching him.

• Obito and Zetsu encountered a Menos Grande, learned their spores had been eaten by other monsters, and Obito sent Zetsu into the Kamui Dimension before continuing toward Kirigakure.
• Obito emerged near Kirigakure's barrier among dozens of Menos Grande and tried to pass through them using Kamui.
