Haotian entered a simple Japanese-style room with Zhiwei, and the two sat opposite each other on the tatami mats.
A faint scent of herbs permeated the air, along with a barely perceptible insect chirping.
"Clan Leader Zhiwei, I will report truthfully to Lord Hokage regarding Shiro," Haotian said calmly, as if discussing a trivial matter.
Hearing this, Zhiwei's deep gaze scrutinized the young man before him through his glasses.
Haotian's hands were clasped on his knees, his posture relaxed, yet a hint of solemnity flickered in his brow.
He had initially believed that Shiro's strength and his connection to Danzo would be enough to intimidate this young man.
But now, it seemed the young man didn't take the matter seriously at all.
"Haotian, you truly don't care?" Zhiwei's voice was deep and magnetic. "You should be well aware of Shiro's situation." He didn't directly mention Danzo, but the implication was clear.
Haotian chuckled. Of course, he knew. Danzo represented the Root organization, and Zetsu were no ordinary beings.
But the more this was the case, the more he had to appear fearless.
"The reason he ended up like this is simply because my nanobots happened to counter his abilities," Haotian explained nonchalantly, a hint of carelessness in his tone.
"It wasn't intentional, I just happened to possess this power."
"Nanobots...?" Zhiwei gently pushed up his glasses, the lenses reflecting a soft light.
"I didn't expect you to have grown to this extent. It seems I underestimated you." His tone shifted. "However, you're not just here to discuss this, are you?"
Haotian's lips curved slightly.
Zhiwei nodded slightly, the solemnity on his face easing a little.
"I will naturally grant your wish regarding this matter. In fact, our recent breeding results have been quite promising." He stood up, gesturing for Haotian to follow. "Come with me, I'll show you the backyard."
The two walked one after another through a long corridor and arrived at the Aburame clan's backyard.
It was less of a backyard and more of a massive greenhouse.
The air was thick with a damp, earthy smell, and a mixture of peculiar plants and insects created a unique scene.
"Look, these are the Giant Parasite Bugs we've been breeding recently," Zhiwei said, pointing to a large glass container, a hint of pride in his voice.
Inside, countless insects writhed slowly. They varied in form, some resembling beetles, others moths, but all exuded a chilling sense of pressure.
"The destructive power of these Kikaichū..." Zhiwei's words trailed off as he turned to Haotian. "Their destructive power is beyond your imagination." He paused, a flicker of an unreadable light in his eyes. "Especially their pursuit of Chakra..."
Zhiwei pointed to the writhing Giant Parasite Bugs in the glass container, his tone serious. "These Kikaichū have an almost fanatical instinct to pursue Chakra. They can sense Chakra flow and gather rapidly, gnawing at it until it's completely consumed. This is the source of their destructive power." He paused, his gaze sweeping around. "To prevent accidents, we've specifically set up the research area within a sealed zone. Even so, we need to be extremely careful."
Haotian carefully observed the insects in the container. They had diverse forms and colors.
Some were entirely black, exuding a metallic sheen; others were a vibrant red, like pulsating flames.
"Do these insects seem to have individual differences?" Haotian pointed to a few smaller, duller-colored ones. "They appear less active than the others."
Zhiwei adjusted his glasses and looked at Haotian with admiration. "Your observation skills are very keen. Indeed, there are subtle individual differences among these insects. Some are more sensitive to Chakra, while others are more aggressive. We've been trying to select the best individuals for targeted breeding, but progress has been slow." His tone held a hint of pleading. "Haotian, your abilities are special. Perhaps you can help us."
"If my power can be of assistance to the Aburame clan, I will naturally do my utmost," Haotian agreed readily. He knew the Aburame clan held a crucial position in Konohagakure, and fostering good relations with them would bring him nothing but benefits.
"In return, I hope the Aburame clan will maintain a friendship with me and we can share resources."
For the next few days, Haotian stayed at the Aburame clan's territory.
Under Zhiwei's guidance, he entered a special sealed area.
It was dark and damp, the air thick with the smell of earth and insects.
Haotian released the radiation power of Ghidorah within him, carefully controlling the dosage, and began irradiating the Giant Parasite Bugs.
Initially, some Giant Parasite Bugs died directly under the impact of the radiation, turning into a pool of black liquid.
But as the experiment progressed, Haotian gradually mastered the technique of controlling the radiation, and some Giant Parasite Bugs actually mutated under the stimulation of the radiation.
