The attack on the Swallowing Heaven Python Clan's outpost in the borderlands proved no exception. Just as the great green snake demon was about to slaughter every demon present, Yun Yi returned.
Demonic power surged around him. He seemed to have gained a tremendous boon in the few short days he had been away, enough to raise his strength considerably.

With a thought from Yun Yi, the Spirit Banner above his head stirred anew. Amid a loud rustling, the image of a Fire Sparrow slowly emerged across its vast surface.

As the Fire Sparrow's phantom image appeared, the surroundings changed once more—drastically.
The green mist that had filled the area seemed to have encountered its true natural enemy. Without a sound, it vanished outright.
In its place came a mass of crimson light.
Centered on the Fire Sparrow's image, that crimson light shot out in every direction.
The power came too swiftly, too suddenly. Before any of the demons present, great or small, could react, they had already been cast into a world of flames.
Pfft!
An enormous fiery-red claw slowly reached out from the Spirit Banner. It seemed to blanket the heavens and cover the earth as it made a grasping motion straight toward the great green python.
Though there was still some distance between them, the great green python's body abruptly twisted, as though an immense force had already seized the snake demon and wracked it with pain.
"That's Yun Yi! How did he become so powerful? What kind of boon did he gain in these few short days?"
Everything had happened too quickly for the eye to follow. Only now did the demons present begin to recover their wits.
