He slowly turned and surveyed the city, his gaze settling on the higher-ranking, formidable martial officers among the Nanyan Army.

Suddenly, the altar that loomed over the entire city began to turn slowly. The space around those officers warped, and one by one, they were involuntarily swept into the sky and cast into that same gloomy, fathomless darkness.

They vanished without a trace.

"Run!"

Someone whispered a warning. Several figures immediately shot away, each using their own movement technique to flee in a different direction.

They were all senior officers in the Nanyan Army.

Now that the Sin Lord had struck, they knew they stood no chance against him. But they weren't about to sit around waiting to die, either. They intended to make a run for it.
