Background / History

Li Yifan was originally a modern elite before transmigrating into the body of a low-ranking constable in Black Mountain City, Great Xia Dynasty. He inherited the original owner’s fragmented memories, poor martial foundation, and dangerous position within a corrupt local government. His parents were already deceased, and he rose without family backing or influential connections. 1 30

Soon after arriving, he discovered a proficiency panel that records his realm, skills, injuries, and proficiency. Unlike a direct enhancement system, it allows skill growth through practice and states that learned skills have no bottleneck before their theoretical maximum. 1

Ordered by Head Constable Zhao Hu to scout a Monster Beast incident, Li Yifan tracked and killed a demonic wolf in a life-or-death battle. His rapid improvement drew Zhao Hu’s hostility, culminating in an attempted recruitment and assassination at Yuelai Tavern. Li Yifan defeated Zhao Hu and four armed attackers, took control of the constables’ room, and established himself as Black Mountain City’s leading constable. 1 3 4

After recovering stolen herbs from the Fierce Tiger Gang and killing its hall master, Lei Bao, Li Yifan became Chief Constable. Li Yifan placed second in the Qingzhou selection, earning the Nine Yang Burning Heaven Technique and Scorching Sun Finger. Li Yifan is cautious, pragmatic, and intensely self-reliant. His early experiences as a disposable constable make him keenly aware that strength, resources, and reliable allies are necessary for survival.
