The tower was no ordinary structure. The Karma Fire born from the Immortal One's severing of his ties of Cause and Effect with the Myriad Heavens and Realms could distort even time and space, yet the tower stood firm right beside him, completely unharmed.

While Song Shuhang pondered this, the Immortal One brought out all his building materials.
Then he reached out and lightly patted the Nine-Rebirth Phoenix Saber.
Even as a Heavenly Dao Creation, the saber let out a violent ring when the Karma Fire on the Immortal One burned it, as though protesting at the top of its voice.
"Sorry, my mistake." The Immortal One hurriedly withdrew his hand, drawing back the Karma Fire that had clung to the saber along with it.
The Nine-Rebirth Phoenix Saber trembled, then flew far away from him, giving him no chance to come near it again.
"Don't be afraid. I'll take care not to touch you again," the Immortal One said softly. "Also, fellow Daoist, please help me one last time. Let me borrow your former master's blueprint."
By "former master," he presumably meant the saber's creator, Heavenly Dao Dog Egg's Dad.
