Ch. 841Seven Kills Has a Better Ring to It!
Plot and events
- Song Shuhang and Ye Si encounter a middle-aged man whose body is saturated with Netherworld Energy. Ye Si suspects he was an ordinary person transformed or possessed by it, rather than a cultivator who went astray.
- Song summons his Projected Golden Lotus, whose roots absorb the energy around the man. With that support gone, the man falls from the sky, still ranting that humanity is to blame.
- Rather than let him die in the fall, Song decides to capture him and investigate whether the Netherworld’s influence is part of a larger plan. Ye Si traps him in a cage and brings him back.
- The prisoner continues shouting and attacking the cage. Shi humorously insists that he should say “kill” seven times for greater impact. Song avoids using his own fist pressure, worried he might kill the man accidentally; the three children take turns punching him, but fail to knock him out.
- Song posts the incident and photos to the Nine Provinces Number One Group, then contacts True Lord Eternal Fire to offer the prisoner for investigation.
Character developments and interactions
- Song Shuhang acts cautiously: he recognizes the incident may have significance, chooses capture over letting the man fall to his death, and seeks help from experienced cultivators. His concern about controlling his newly increased strength shows he has not yet adjusted to it.
- Ye Si identifies the Netherworld influence, absorbs its energy through the lotus’s roots, and efficiently cages the falling man.
- Little Guoguo, Shi, and Zhu provide comic relief through their confusion over the lotus roots and their enthusiastic, ineffective attempts to quiet the prisoner. Shi corrects Zhu and later coaches the prisoner on how to make his threats sound more impressive.
- The prisoner is consumed by hostility toward human cultivators, repeating violent slogans even after being captured.
Significant themes
- The Netherworld’s threat: Its energy can alter ordinary people, raising concern about a broader scheme.
- Responsible use of power: Shuhang restrains himself because he cannot yet safely control his stronger attacks.
- Comedy amid danger: The group treats a potentially serious supernatural incident with playful banter, especially during the children’s attempts to subdue the prisoner.
