Ch. 981Under Our Race's BGM, We Sword Gu Are Unbeatable!

Key plot points and events

  • The Invisible Sword Gu recover from Dharma King Creation’s song and resume attacking Song Shuhang and Ye Si. Shuhang plays a recording of the song, hoping to disable them again.
  • The nearby Sword Gu collapse, but those farther away react differently: the song excites them, and they gather into a gigantic sword, combining their Sword Qi and synchronizing with the music.
  • The fused Sword Gu launch a devastating slash. Shuhang escapes with Ye Si and their allies into the Core World, but a strand of the giant sword’s Sword Intent pursues him through space and cuts his forehead.
  • Merit Snake Beauty shields Shuhang and suppresses the lingering Sword Intent. Once she retreats, the Sword Intent flares up again, forcing her to protect him a second time. It then settles into the wound rather than disappearing.

Character developments and interactions

  • Shuhang shows resourcefulness by recording and replaying Dharma King Creation’s song, but the tactic has an unintended consequence: it helps the distant Sword Gu unite into a stronger force.
  • Ye Si supports Shuhang with defensive barriers, telepathic communication, and an explanation of Sword Intent. She identifies the threat and suggests that Venerable White might remove it—or that Shuhang could counter it by developing his own Saber Intent.
  • Merit Snake Beauty proves crucial, shielding Shuhang from most of the spatially pursuing strike and containing the remaining Sword Intent.
  • Shuhang becomes newly eager to cultivate his own Saber Intent after witnessing the Sword Gu’s power.

Significant themes

  • Unintended consequences: A solution that works against one group of Sword Gu empowers another.
  • Individuality in cultivation: Ye Si explains that Sword and Saber Intent take many forms, shaped by a cultivator’s nature and experience.
  • Growth through danger: The encounter gives Shuhang a stronger motivation to develop his own Saber Intent.
  • Protection and vulnerability: Even after escaping into the Core World, Shuhang remains vulnerable to a force that can cross space—and must rely on Merit Snake Beauty to survive.

Ch. 982Guard day and night, but a thief at home is hardest to guard against

Key plot points and events

  • Song Shuhang plans to use his Saber Intent to grind away the Sword Intent lodged in his forehead. While experimenting with a safer way to process Saber-Intent Penetrating Mystique Grass, he is twice interrupted: first, Little Cai is knocked into him by the newly awakened Fighting Beast Kangaroo, causing him to swallow the grass; later, he finally succeeds in using his Lotus-Blossom Tongue ability to turn the grass’s Saber Intent into lotus seeds without swallowing it.
  • He produces what he believes are one hundred seeds, but finds only twenty in the bag. The missing seeds were secretly eaten by Merit Snake Beauty, who then openly swallows the remaining ones.
  • The seeds awaken powerful, domineering Saber Intent in Merit Snake Beauty, which leaves Little Cai and the kangaroo sprawled helplessly. She forms a silver short saber, then puts it away and resumes coiling around Song Shuhang.
  • When Song asks Merit Snake Beauty to remove the Sword Intent from his forehead, she prepares to strike him with her saber. He stops her and decides to make more seeds for himself, asking Ye Si to guard them.
  • Elsewhere, Senior White finishes collecting materials for First-Grade Beast Feed and buys a ten-meter stretch limousine, already imagining ways to modify it.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang is resourceful and eager to advance his Saber Intent, but his experiments are repeatedly derailed by the chaotic creatures around him. He remains wary of Merit Snake Beauty’s unpredictable abilities.
  • Merit Snake Beauty reveals unexpected independence and strength: she secretly steals and eats the seeds, develops formidable Saber Intent, and nearly attempts a dangerously literal solution to Song’s forehead problem.
  • Ye Si helps protect Song from interruptions and confirms the nature of Merit Snake Beauty’s Saber Intent, though she does not notice the theft.
  • Little Cai and the Fighting Beast Kangaroo accidentally disrupt Song’s first attempt; later, they are overwhelmed by Merit Snake Beauty’s aura.
  • Senior White remains absent from Song’s experiment, pursuing materials before indulging his enthusiasm for an unusual car.

Significant themes

  • Unpredictability and comic mishaps: Careful plans repeatedly collapse because of accidents, impulsive companions, or unexpected behavior.
  • Power emerging from unlikely sources: Merit Snake Beauty, essentially a manifestation of merit power, can eat, learn, and wield Saber Intent.
  • Trust and vigilance: Song’s experience illustrates the joke that even constant guarding cannot prevent trouble from coming from within one’s own household.

Ch. 983I Might Have Cultivated a Fake Saber Intent

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Senior White finally finishes buying an unusually long limousine, drives it to an uninhabited location, and stores it in a spatial artifact so no ordinary person will see him hide it.
  • After checking his phone, he discovers Song Shuhang’s distress signal in the Nine Provinces Number One Group and sees that Shuhang has been surrounded and attacked by Sword Gus.
  • Senior White realizes he delayed too long while searching for a secluded place and preparing to leave. He immediately uses his spatial talent to travel to the forbidden area and rescue Shuhang.
  • Inside the Core World, Song Shuhang prepares one hundred Saber-Intent Penetrating Mystique Lotus Seeds and attempts to condense his Saber Intent in a single session.
  • As he consumes the seeds, his understanding of multiple techniques improves, including Basic Saber Technique, Gale Saber, Reverse Scale Saber Technique, Flame Blade, and even Holy Light Swordsmanship.
  • Shuhang humorously theorizes that Holy Light Swordsmanship may actually be a disguised saber technique, explaining why he mastered it despite having poor swordsmanship talent.
  • After consuming sixty seeds, his Saber Intent begins to manifest naturally, producing weak saber qi whenever he looks at things intensely.
  • After eighty-eight seeds, he stops consuming them and practices all of his saber techniques with the Invisible Saber Gu to complete the formation of his Saber Intent.
  • His Saber Intent finally breaks through while he performs the defensive Inverse Scale Form, releasing more than a hundred strands of saber qi and successfully condensing the intent.
  • However, Shuhang becomes concerned when he examines the nature of his Saber Intent and suspects that it is abnormal—or even a “fake” Saber Intent.

Character Developments

  • Senior White: Continues to display his eccentric practicality and immense abilities. He worries about hiding modern objects from ordinary people, considers reorganizing his enormous treasure vaults, and promptly responds once he realizes Shuhang is in danger.
  • Song Shuhang: Makes major progress by successfully condensing Saber Intent. His training method is unusually fast because he can consume the lotus seeds without the pain or limitations experienced by ordinary cultivators. He also gains deeper insight into his techniques and discovers that his Saber Intent may be unconventional.
  • Ye Si: Acts as Shuhang’s supportive companion and observer. She warns him not to tempt fate, encourages him during the breakthrough, and becomes emotionally overwhelmed when he succeeds.
  • Xiao Cai: Is deeply impressed by Shuhang’s saber techniques, especially the dragon-like Reverse Scale Saber Technique. She begins considering saber cultivation for herself and plans to ask Shuhang for a body-tempering technique to strengthen her wings.
  • Merit Snake Beauty: No longer secretly consumes Shuhang’s lotus seeds, implying that she has already condensed her own Saber Intent and has no further need for them.
  • The Invisible Saber Gu: Remains strongly attracted to the lotus seeds and cooperates with Shuhang during his saber practice by allowing him to wield it.

Significant Themes

  • Cultivation through unconventional methods: Shuhang’s ability to consume the lotus seeds like candy highlights how abnormal his body and cultivation path are compared with ordinary disciples.
  • Appearances versus true nature: Holy Light Swordsmanship may actually be a saber technique despite its name, suggesting that techniques and identities can conceal their real essence.
  • The pressure of expectations: Shuhang wonders whether his Saber Intent will resemble the domineering intents of Merit Snake Beauty or Daoist Scarlet Firmament, but his result appears to be something entirely different.
  • Humor within cultivation: The chapter repeatedly contrasts grand spiritual breakthroughs with mundane concerns, such as hiding a limousine, organizing treasure vaults, and attracting admirers by slicing falling leaves.
  • Growth through synthesis: Shuhang forms his Saber Intent not from one technique alone, but by combining every saber-related skill he has learned, especially the defensive Reverse Scale Saber Technique.

Character Interactions

  • Senior White reacts to Shuhang’s distress through the group chat and heads to save him.
  • Ye Si supervises Shuhang’s cultivation, warns him against overconfident declarations, and celebrates emotionally when he succeeds.
  • Shuhang and Ye Si discuss whether his training has failed, with Shuhang insisting that his strange result is not a failure but an inexplicable form of Saber Intent.
  • Xiao Cai watches Shuhang’s techniques and begins viewing saber cultivation as a possible path for herself.
  • Shuhang and the Invisible Saber Gu cooperate closely, with the Gu willingly landing in his hand and becoming the focus of his final practice.

Ch. 984Three Types of Saber Intent and One Type of Sword Intent—Are You Afraid?

Plot points and events

  • Song Shuhang successfully condenses what appears to be Defensive Saber Intent. Rather than the usual aggressive force, it gathers around his body to protect him.
  • The intent draws out his saber qi and forms a gleaming suit of armor. Shuhang is dismayed, joking that he has developed “Armor Intent” and should become an armor warrior. Ye Si and Xiao Cai reassure him that the armor looks impressive.
  • Shuhang uses the defensive intent to attack the Sword Intent lodged in his forehead. At first, his Saber Intent only curls up defensively while the Sword Intent strikes it. At last it draws a saber and destroys the Sword Intent in one powerful slash, then returns to its defensive posture.
  • The Invisible Saber Gu has eaten the twelve lotus seeds left over after Shuhang used eighty-eight to condense his intent. Shuhang considers feeding it more in hopes that it, too, will develop Saber Intent.
  • Shuhang and Ye Si leave the Core World to test his armor and look for Senior White. They find White interrogating the Invisible Sword Gu, having mistaken it for Shuhang. White sees the armor and confidently calls it “Armor Intent.” Shuhang insists it is Saber Intent, but White dismisses it as a counterfeit.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang is initially frustrated and bewildered by his unconventional, armor-forming Saber Intent. He recovers his confidence when it proves powerful enough to destroy the Sword Intent, and becomes excited about its potential.
  • Ye Si recognizes the defensive nature of Shuhang’s intent, comforts him, and shares in his excitement. She also reveals that she knows one type of Sword Intent.
  • Xiao Cai praises the armor’s appearance, helping lift Shuhang’s spirits.
  • Venerable White returns late and mistakes the Invisible Sword Gu for Shuhang before turning his attention to the armor. His firm verdict that Shuhang’s Saber Intent is counterfeit punctures Shuhang’s claim.
  • Shuhang and Ye Si playfully imagine combining their abilities in a “Three Heads and Six Arms” form, with three kinds of Saber Intent and one Sword Intent.

Significant themes

  • Unconventional cultivation: Shuhang’s Saber Intent defies expectations, taking a defensive, armor-like form while retaining a devastating offensive strike.
  • Appearance versus nature: The armor looks nothing like conventional Saber Intent, yet its decisive slash proves what it can do.
  • Humor and resilience: Shuhang copes with disappointment through jokes and self-mockery, then regains confidence by testing his ability.
  • Companionship and shared power: Ye Si and Xiao Cai support Shuhang, while the prospect of combining their intents turns his strange breakthrough into a shared opportunity.

Ch. 985Sixteen's Tribulation

Key plot points and events

  • Venerable White’s presence frightens the normally fearless Invisible Sword Gu into retreating. He catches only one, while Song Shuhang’s plan to test his Saber Intent Armor against them is abandoned.
  • Song Shuhang believes their expedition is over: the forbidden area’s master, the Northern Great Emperor, has awakened, and Shuhang has obtained Profound Ice to help treat Li Yinzhu. The Emperor also plans to refine an Ice Soul Pill once the ingredients are gathered.
  • Venerable White gives up looting the now-inhabited forbidden area, but becomes interested in turning the Invisible Sword Gu into carriers for his flying-sword formation. Shuhang offers over a thousand Sword Gu eggs, and White agrees to exchange them for several training and study systems Shuhang wants for his disciple, family, and friends.
  • The group travels toward the Chu household. White discusses whether student, teacher, or principal would be the most interesting role, then explains that he wants to study film directing and may seek private instruction from professors—though he proposes “grabbing” them.
  • White’s Meteor Sword suddenly reacts: Su Clan’s Sixteen is undergoing a Heavenly Tribulation. He stops the car, and Shuhang asks to go with him.

Character developments

  • Venerable White remains curious and action-oriented, but respects the distinction between exploring an ownerless site and trespassing on someone’s property. He is also pursuing his filmmaking ambitions and devising a new use for the Sword Gu.
  • Song Shuhang is tired after the expedition and focused on following through on Li Yinzhu’s treatment. He also thinks practically about how White’s systems could help the people around him, and eagerly responds to Sixteen’s crisis.
  • Sixteen does not appear directly, but her Heavenly Tribulation becomes the chapter’s urgent new development.
  • Household Patriarch Chu remains unconscious after being treated by White; he is expected to recover in a few days.

Significant themes

  • Respect for ownership: A forbidden area changes from a legitimate treasure-hunting target to someone else’s property once its master awakens.
  • Resourcefulness and cooperation: Shuhang and White turn the Sword Gu eggs into a mutually beneficial exchange.
  • Curiosity and adventure: White’s projects—from sword formations to film study—reflect an ongoing appetite for new experiences.
  • The shift from rest to responsibility: Shuhang longs to sleep, but Sixteen’s tribulation immediately draws him back into action.

Character interactions

  • The Sword Gu’s fear of White contrasts with their usual aggression; White is puzzled by their reaction, while Shuhang observes that even the slowest Gu is caught.
  • Shuhang and White negotiate a trade: Shuhang provides the eggs, and White promises systems for people Shuhang cares about.
  • Shuhang advises White about film studies, then reacts uneasily to White’s plan to “grab” professors.
  • White’s sudden decision to go to Sixteen prompts Shuhang to insist on accompanying him.

Ch. 986Suddenly Became Someone Else's Love Rival

Plot points and events

  • Venerable White warns Song Shuhang that he is already at the peak of the Third Grade and close to triggering his Fourth-Grade Heavenly Tribulation. If he went to watch Su Clan’s Sixteen’s tribulation in person, he might be caught up in it and face a doubled tribulation.
  • White directs Shuhang to Spirit Butterfly’s guide to the Fourth-Grade tribulation in the Nine Provinces Number One Group. Shuhang finds that the file has already been downloaded—possibly by Onion Lady—and reads it.
  • To let Shuhang learn from Sixteen’s tribulation safely, White takes Ye Si instead, since she can share visual and memory impressions with Shuhang. He leaves Shuhang with a ten-meter limousine.
  • Stranded with a car his license does not cover, Shuhang gets help from Wang Ping, a Sea Clan member and former subordinate of Yu Jiaojiao. Wang Ping agrees to drive it to a remote reservoir where Shuhang can store it out of public view.
  • Wang Ping posts a photo of himself with Shuhang and the limousine. His Sea Clan coworkers see it and mistake Shuhang for Gao Sheng, whom they believe is Mr. Wu’s romantic rival for Yu Jiaojiao’s affections.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang realizes his next tribulation is much closer than he expected. Though anxious about his lack of preparation, he accepts White’s advice and plans to learn from Ye Si’s observations.
  • Venerable White is protective and practical: he warns Shuhang away from danger, finds a way for him to observe the tribulation indirectly, and then departs abruptly—leaving Shuhang to deal with the limousine.
  • Ye Si willingly gives up watching her television drama to help Shuhang gather information, showing her concern and cooperation.
  • Wang Ping is cheerful and helpful, lending his driving skills and introducing Shuhang to the Sea Clan’s limits: members below the Fifth Grade cannot remain away from water for long.
  • The Sea Clan coworkers’ mistaken identity and gossip set up a comic misunderstanding: Shuhang is treated as a rival in a romance he does not know about.

Significant themes

  • Preparation and risk: Shuhang’s rapid cultivation progress makes the Heavenly Tribulation an immediate concern, underscoring the need to prepare rather than rely on assumptions.
  • Trust and cooperation: Ye Si’s shared memories and Wang Ping’s assistance show how allies help Shuhang navigate dangers and practical problems.
  • Comic misunderstandings: A social-media post turns an ordinary favor into apparent evidence of a romantic rivalry, creating an absurd new complication for Shuhang.

Ch. 987Plan Approved. Perfect!

Chapter Summary: “Plan Approved, Perfectly!”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Song Shuhang is approaching the sirens’ temporary reservoir base, creating a dilemma because Boss Wu considers him a romantic rival for Yu Jiaojiao.
  • The three kindhearted sirens contact Boss Wu for instructions rather than deciding on their own how to handle Song Shuhang.
  • Boss Wu orders them to beat Song Shuhang, believing he is only a Second-Grade cultivator. However, he limits the attack to light injuries and insists they humiliate him by striking his face and recording the incident.
  • The sirens prepare an elaborate ambush:
    • They plan to paralyze Wang Ping first so he cannot interfere.
    • They arrange a camera to record the beating.
    • The banshee intends to imitate Song Shuhang’s screams if necessary, ensuring the recording makes him appear especially miserable.
  • Meanwhile, Su Clan’s Sixteen undergoes her Fourth-Grade Heavenly Tribulation for the second time.
  • She effortlessly defeats the initial Tribulation Lightning and then destroys the final Thunderfire Tribulation with powerful saber intent shaped like a White Dragon.
  • No Heart Demon Tribulation appears, allowing Sixteen to successfully advance. Her liquefied True Qi transforms into Innate True Essence, her mental energy improves, and she forms a True Qi Core.
  • Just as everyone believes the tribulation has ended, the Thunderfire Tribulation reforms and attacks Sixteen again. Venerable White’s Meteor Sword destroys the remnants.
  • A new Tribulation Cloud then appears, revealing a huge cannon barrel made of golden lightning. Venerable White identifies it as a strange, mutated Heavenly Tribulation seemingly targeting Sixteen specifically.

Character Developments

  • The three sirens show their kindness and caution by seeking permission before attacking Song Shuhang. Once authorized, they enthusiastically devise an overly elaborate and comedic plan designed to cause only superficial harm while maximizing humiliation.
  • Boss Wu is revealed to be jealous, impulsive, and obsessed with preserving his dignity, though he remains concerned enough to prevent Song Shuhang from suffering serious injuries.
  • Su Clan’s Sixteen demonstrates major growth. Unlike her previous failed attempt, she faces the tribulation confidently and dominates it with her saber techniques. Her successful breakthrough marks a significant increase in both combat power and cultivation.
  • Su Clan’s Seven acts as a protective and anxious guardian, remaining nearby throughout the tribulation and becoming furious when the Heavenly Tribulation attacks Sixteen after supposedly ending.
  • Venerable White arrives at a critical moment, using the Meteor Sword to protect Sixteen. His appearance is slightly comedic because the tribulation interferes with his spatial teleportation coordinates.
  • Ye Si accompanies Venerable White and observes the abnormal development of Sixteen’s tribulation.

Significant Themes

  • Jealousy and romantic rivalry: Boss Wu’s irrational hostility toward Song Shuhang drives the sirens’ ridiculous attack plan.
  • Kindness versus obedience: The sirens are reluctant to harm Song Shuhang but follow orders once Boss Wu assumes responsibility.
  • Growth through adversity: Sixteen’s second attempt at the Heavenly Tribulation contrasts sharply with her earlier failure, emphasizing perseverance, preparation, and personal improvement.
  • Unpredictable cultivation dangers: Even after a tribulation appears complete, unexpected mutations can occur, suggesting that breakthroughs are never entirely safe or predictable.
  • Comedic contrast: The chapter alternates between the serious danger of Sixteen’s tribulation and the absurdity of the sirens’ planned “perfect” humiliation operation.

Character Interactions

  • The sirens consult Boss Wu about Song Shuhang and carefully negotiate the severity of the planned attack.
  • Boss Wu’s jealousy shapes his orders, while the sirens tactfully ensure they will not be blamed if Yu Jiaojiao objects.
  • Su Clan’s Seven watches over Sixteen and communicates with Venerable White after the tribulation unexpectedly continues.
  • Venerable White’s intervention protects Sixteen, while Ye Si joins him in examining the newly formed mutated Tribulation Cloud.
  • The chapter ends with the characters facing a new, unexplained threat: a giant golden lightning cannon aimed at Sixteen.

Ch. 988Gunfire and Modernized Heavenly Tribulation? Luckily, It Was a Dream!

Chapter Summary: “Gunfire and Modernized Heavenly Tribulation? Luckily, It Was a Dream!”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Su Clan’s Seven considers dispersing Su Clan’s Sixteen’s mutated Heavenly Tribulation, but Venerable White stops her. He assures her that the Meteor Sword he gave Sixteen can protect her if necessary.
  • Ye Si observes that the Heavenly Tribulation has taken the form of a lightning cannon barrel and worries that future tribulations may become fully modernized, involving missiles and advanced weapons.
  • She shares her concerns with Song Shuhang. He argues that cannon-shaped tribulation weapons are not entirely strange, since ancient cultivators possessed similar magic treasures, but he admits that Sixteen’s tribulation may be unusually dangerous.
  • While traveling to the Chu Household Grounds, Song Shuhang falls asleep and dreams of a modern army attacking him from inside the Tribulation Clouds with guns, cannons, and missile vehicles. He wakes in a cold sweat and wonders how cultivators would handle such “modernized Heavenly Tribulations.”
  • Meanwhile, Su Clan’s Sixteen successfully advances to the Fourth-Grade Realm. Her true qi transforms into Innate True Essence, and her True Qi Core condenses.
  • The lightning cannon fires at her. Sixteen counters with her modified saber technique, “Burial of the Star River,” striking the lightning pillar repeatedly and reducing its power.
  • A mysterious protective force emerges from Sixteen automatically: a majestic Pure White True Dragon. It destroys the remaining lightning and shields her from further attacks.
  • Su Clan’s Seven and Venerable White are surprised by the dragon’s appearance and speculate that it may be related to the same origin as Song Shuhang’s Merit Golden Light.
  • Sixteen continues fighting the cannon-shaped Heavenly Tribulation for more than twenty strikes. As she becomes more accustomed to her Fourth-Grade power, her saber attacks grow stronger, eventually forcing the cannon to stop.
  • The tribulation’s final attack transforms the cannon into a powerful Thunder Spear containing Fifth-Grade Spirit Emperor-level power. Before Venerable White can intervene, Sixteen’s Pure White True Dragon charges toward it.

Character Developments

  • Su Clan’s Sixteen demonstrates exceptional talent and combat ability. She successfully enters the Fourth-Grade Realm and uses her personally modified version of Su Clan’s Seven’s signature saber technique.
  • Sixteen’s unknown protective White Dragon manifests for the first time, suggesting she possesses a powerful hidden ability or connection to a special form of merit or spiritual power.
  • Su Clan’s Seven shows deep concern for Sixteen and is willing to risk herself to disperse the dangerous tribulation, while also taking pride in Sixteen’s superior talent.
  • Venerable White remains calm and protective, trusting both the Meteor Sword and Sixteen’s own strength. He carefully evaluates when intervention may be necessary.
  • Ye Si displays her observant and imaginative nature, worrying about the future evolution of Heavenly Tribulations and trying to warn Song Shuhang.
  • Song Shuhang reacts humorously but anxiously to the possibility of facing a modernized tribulation, revealing his growing awareness that his own future tribulations may be abnormal.

Significant Themes

  • Tradition versus modernization: The chapter humorously imagines ancient cultivation trials evolving into technologically themed weapons.
  • Inherited knowledge versus unforeseen change: Cultivators rely on generations of experience to overcome traditional tribulations, but a new form of tribulation could make that knowledge obsolete.
  • Hidden potential and awakening power: Sixteen’s White Dragon represents an unknown ability emerging at a crucial moment, suggesting that her true strength is greater than previously understood.
  • Protection and trust: The characters repeatedly balance the desire to intervene with confidence in Sixteen’s ability to overcome the trial herself.
  • Humor amid danger: Song Shuhang’s nightmare and the idea of “fighting cannon with cannon” contrast with the genuinely lethal threat facing Sixteen.

Character Interactions

  • Su Clan’s Seven and Venerable White discuss whether Sixteen’s tribulation should be dispersed, with Venerable White persuading Seven not to act recklessly.
  • Ye Si and Song Shuhang exchange messages about the mutated tribulation. Ye Si worries about future dangers, while Song Shuhang jokingly fears being “jinxed.”
  • Venerable White recognizes the technique Sixteen uses, and Su Clan’s Seven proudly explains that Sixteen created an altered version of her signature move.
  • Ye Si and Venerable White both connect Sixteen’s White Dragon to Song Shuhang’s Merit Golden Light, though neither understands its exact nature.
  • The chapter ends with the White Dragon confronting the deadly Thunder Spear, leaving the outcome of the final clash unresolved.

Ch. 989I'm Reshooting, Be Professional, Got It?

Plot points and events

  • Su Clan’s Sixteen’s heavenly tribulation takes a bizarre turn when a white dragon-like manifestation swallows the Thunder Spear. It later spits out the lightning as a harmless, treasure-like clump of “dragon shit,” which neither Su Clan’s Seven nor Venerable White wants.
  • The dragon returns to Sixteen, who has successfully passed her tribulation. Her saber now carries a powerful lightning attribute with a trace of tribulation power.
  • Sixteen asks Seven to teach her Blade Flight. He tells her to rest first; she plans to learn it before heading to Jiangnan University Town.
  • Song Shuhang arrives at a secluded reservoir with Wang Ping. He stores Household Patriarch Chu and the Fighting Kangaroo in his Core World, astonishing Wang Ping.
  • Three sea demons ambush them on orders from Mr. Wu. They knock Wang Ping unconscious and accuse Shuhang of pursuing Yu Jiaojiao, demanding that he stay away from her.
  • Shuhang denies any romantic interest and explains that he and Jiaojiao are ordinary friends. The demons cite their having shared a room as evidence, then insist on staging a beating and filming it for Mr. Wu. After their first take is spoiled by Black Three’s unscripted remark, they prepare to reshoot.

Character developments

  • Su Clan’s Sixteen emerges from the tribulation unharmed and stronger, gaining tribulation-infused lightning on her saber. Her eagerness to learn Blade Flight shows her growing ambition.
  • Su Clan’s Seven is relieved by Sixteen’s success and remains a protective mentor.
  • Venerable White calmly assesses the dragon’s strange behavior and recognizes the expelled tribulation as valuable, though he finds it unpleasant.
  • Song Shuhang stays composed during the ambush, judging that the demons pose little threat and signaling his Saber Gu not to act.
  • Wang Ping sees Shuhang’s apparent spatial ability and is knocked out before he can learn more.

Significant themes

  • Comedy through the absurd: A heavenly tribulation becomes dragon waste, while the sea demons treat an intimidation video like a professional film production.
  • Power and unexpected gains: Sixteen turns a dangerous trial into a new weapon advantage; Shuhang’s abilities continue to impress those around him.
  • Misunderstanding and jealousy: The demons mistake Shuhang’s friendship with Jiaojiao for romance and act on Mr. Wu’s possessive warning.

Character interactions

  • Seven comforts and encourages Sixteen, while Venerable White confirms that she is physically well.
  • The three sea demons confront Shuhang with Mr. Wu’s warning; Shuhang calmly disputes their assumptions.
  • Black Three, the jellyfish demon, and the Siren-blooded woman bicker over the failed recording, turning the threat into a farcical reshoot.

Ch. 990989. Put Some Effort Into It—Haven't You Eaten?

Key plot points

  • Three Third-Grade sea demons confront Song Shuhang, planning to scare him on video for their boss. The Siren Banshee even promises to imitate his screams, while the demons themselves act more cute than intimidating.
  • Shuhang warns them that they cannot defeat him, but they dismiss the claim and attack. He deliberately sends the Invisible Saber Gu away and keeps Merit Snake Beauty from intervening, wanting to test his new Saber Intent Armor himself.
  • Shuhang forms the armor by combining Saber Intent and saber qi. It blocks the jellyfish demon’s paralyzing venom, the Siren’s sonic spear, and the squid and jellyfish demons’ combined water-and-ink spell. Attacks on even the uncovered parts of his body are deflected or cut by the armor’s saber energy.
  • The demons continue attacking for ten minutes, but cannot damage him. Shuhang berates them for weak effort and poor tactics, urging them to find a weakness and use stronger weapons—even though he has no idea where the armor’s weakness might be.
  • Exhausted and bewildered, the demons insist they have already used their full strength, spells, and weapons.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang shows growing confidence in his abilities and tests his new defensive technique under pressure. Rather than retaliating, he lets the demons attack and coaches them mockingly, maintaining an exaggerated aura of invulnerability.
  • The sea demons begin as overconfident intimidators but become confused, fatigued, and apologetic when every attack fails. Their attempts to look frightening contrast with their timid, increasingly aggrieved reactions.
  • Their exchange is comic: Shuhang treats the fight like a training session and scolds them as if they are not trying, while they struggle to understand how he can remain untouched.

Significant themes

  • Strength and growth: Shuhang’s new Saber Intent Armor lets him withstand opponents a realm above him.
  • Appearance versus reality: The demons’ menacing act—and their assumptions about Shuhang—collapse against his actual power.
  • Comedy through reversal: The attackers become the exhausted, chastised ones, while their target calmly critiques their technique.
  • Restraint and experimentation: Shuhang avoids using the Saber Gu or attacking first, choosing to test his defense rather than simply overpower the demons.

Ch. 991Senior White Gives You All a Buff

Chapter Summary: “Senior White Gives You All a Buff”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Senior White and Ye Si return after Sixteen successfully survives her Heavenly Tribulation. Song Shuhang is found calmly enduring attacks from three Third-Grade sea demons.
  • The sea demons were sent by Mr. Wu, a powerful sea demon who mistakenly believes Song Shuhang is romantically involved with Yu Jiaojiao and considers him a rival.
  • Song Shuhang explains that he is testing his unusual Saber Intent Armor, which normally absorbs attacks defensively before launching a powerful counterattack.
  • Because the three sea demons are too weak to push the armor to its limit, Senior White decides to strengthen them with multiple buffs.
  • The enhanced sea demons attack Song Shuhang with overwhelming force. After nearly another minute, the Saber Intent Armor reaches its critical point and transforms into an offensive state.
  • A devastating saber strike erupts from the armor, immobilizing and nearly killing the three sea demons. Senior White rescues them just in time.
  • The saber light travels hundreds of meters, tears through the ground, and reduces a rubble field to fine sand.
  • Song Shuhang reveals that the attack consumes only about as much energy as using Flame Blade, after which his Saber Intent Armor reforms almost immediately.

Character Developments

  • Song Shuhang demonstrates that his cultivation and combat ability are much greater than the sea demons’ intelligence suggested. He is nearing the Fourth-Grade Realm, despite being reported as only Second-Grade.
  • His Saber Intent is revealed to be exceptionally rare: it functions as a nearly impenetrable defense that converts accumulated attacks into a powerful counterstrike.
  • Senior White continues to display his inventive and casually overpowered approach to problems, solving the sea demons’ lack of strength by simply buffing them.
  • Ye Si provides insight into the nature and history of Song Shuhang’s Saber Intent, including its previous ability to destroy powerful Sword Intent.
  • The three sea demons shift from confident attackers to terrified victims. Their naïve, kindhearted personalities become clear as they realize how dangerous the human world is.
  • Sixteen’s successful tribulation confirms her continued cultivation progress and relieves Song Shuhang’s concern over her future.

Significant Themes

  • The danger of inaccurate information: The sea demons’ outdated intelligence leads them to underestimate Song Shuhang catastrophically.
  • Absurdity and comedy in cultivation: A supposed fight becomes an experiment in which the victim asks his opponents to attack harder, while Senior White strengthens them for that purpose.
  • Defensive strength becoming offensive power: Song Shuhang’s Saber Intent embodies the idea that enduring pressure can eventually produce overwhelming retaliation.
  • Kindness amid danger: Though the sea demons are enemies, their sincerity and innocence make them sympathetic, and Senior White protects them from the consequences of their mistake.
  • Overwhelming power and frustration: Song Shuhang’s rapidly regenerating armor makes him nearly impossible to defeat, whether opponents can break through it or not.

Character Interactions

  • Song Shuhang jokes with Senior White and Ye Si about being “beaten up” and denies having romantic feelings for Yu Jiaojiao.
  • Ye Si and Senior White analyze the mechanics of the Saber Intent Armor while Song Shuhang complains about having to stand still for so long.
  • Senior White reassures the sea demons and earns their immediate trust before secretly turning them into stronger test subjects.
  • The sea demons reluctantly cooperate, hoping to break Song Shuhang’s armor, only to trigger its lethal counterattack.
  • Senior White rescues them at the last moment, leaving them horrified by Song Shuhang’s power and convinced that the human world is dangerously unpredictable.

Ch. 992@#%× Fairy's Hobby

Chapter Summary: The Hobby of @#%×Fairy

Key Plot Points and Events

  • After defeating the three Sea Demons, Song Shuhang chooses to spare them because they had only intended to lightly beat him and had even promised to fake a scream for him.
  • He asks them to tell their boss, Wu, that he and Yu Jiaojiao are only friends. Song explains that Yu Jiaojiao’s tastes favor men with dragon or flood-dragon horns, meaning neither he nor Wu fits her preferences.
  • Venerable White investigates the crater created by Song Shuhang’s final saber slash and senses a treasure buried underground.
  • White and Ye Si attempt to excavate it by combining Sword Intent with Saber Intent. Ye Si uses Song Shuhang’s Merit Golden Light and @#%×Fairy to produce Tyrant Saber Intent.
  • Their coordinated attack triggers an eruption of Earthly Gang Qi. Venerable White protects Ye Si, while @#%×Fairy remains in the pit.
  • Although the Earthly Gang Qi does not harm her, @#%×Fairy pretends to be injured, imitates Song Shuhang’s scream, and dramatically “dies.”
  • White collects the Earthly Gang Qi for use in a future medicinal gift for Medicine Master, then continues searching and discovers the actual treasure.

Character Development

  • Song Shuhang demonstrates greater confidence and strength through his powerful final slash, though Venerable White notes that his Defensive Saber Intent is still overly timid.
  • Song remains compassionate and avoids unnecessarily harming the Sea Demons.
  • He also becomes embarrassed by @#%×Fairy’s behavior after realizing that she has adopted his scream and “playing dead” as a hobby.
  • Venerable White continues to display his unusual treasure-finding luck and his willingness to experiment with new techniques. He also acts protectively toward Ye Si.
  • Ye Si shows growing confidence in controlling the Merit Golden Light and successfully coordinates its Saber Intent with Venerable White’s Sword Intent.
  • @#%×Fairy/Merit Snake Beauty develops a more expressive personality when attached to Ye Si and reveals a bizarre new hobby: imitating Song Shuhang’s scream and pretending to die.

Significant Themes

  • Misunderstood relationships and incompatible standards: Song humorously tries to dispel the Sea Demons’ belief that he and Yu Jiaojiao are romantically involved.
  • Luck and danger: Venerable White’s talent for finding treasures is repeatedly associated with potentially disastrous situations, though this discovery ultimately benefits the group.
  • Growth through cooperation: The treasure can only be reached through the combined use of Song’s Merit Golden Light, Ye Si’s control, and White’s Sword Intent.
  • Comedy through imitation and personification: @#%×Fairy’s ability to mimic Song Shuhang’s voice and behavior gives the Merit Golden Light an increasingly independent, mischievous personality.

Character Interactions

  • Song speaks with the three Sea Demons about Yu Jiaojiao’s preferences, unintentionally making them realize that their boss Wu is also unlikely to win her affection.
  • Ye Si initially tries to distance herself from Venerable White, fearing the danger connected to his treasure-related luck, but agrees to help after White explains that the treasure resulted from Song’s attack.
  • White is surprised that the Merit Golden Light can use Saber Intent and becomes interested in testing it.
  • Ye Si and @#%×Fairy work together successfully, while White coordinates his Sword Intent with their attack.
  • White and Ye Si are bewildered—and Song is deeply embarrassed—by @#%×Fairy’s theatrical imitation of Song’s scream and death scene.

Ch. 993Venerable Spirit Butterfly's Friendly Provision of False Intelligence

Key plot points and events

  • Venerable White digs up and seals a contaminated Fire-Type Spirit Vein—a rare, explosive “Disaster Spirit Vein” drawn to Saber and Sword Intent. Its blast could devastate a one-kilometer radius and kill a Fourth-Grade cultivator at its center.
  • He gives the sealed vein to Song Shuhang as payment for a custom Third-to-Fourth-Grade tribulation-crossing formation. The prospective builder is Other Shore Demon Lord, an eccentric explosives researcher and tribulation expert, who plans to meet Song in Jiangnan.
  • White and Song return to the Chu Household. Song quietly restores its unconscious patriarch, then leaves without seeking recognition. The household discovers the patriarch the next morning and celebrates.
  • The patriarch’s return draws the attention of hostile cultivators, who plan to attack the household again if the mysterious protector has departed.
  • On Spirit Butterfly Island, Soft Feather masters sword flight after following Three Waves’ risky training method. Her father agrees to take her to the Chu Household—but secretly arranges for false intelligence to lure the hostile cultivators into acting.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang receives a dangerous but valuable item and is urged to prepare for his coming tribulation. He remains anxious about the spirit vein, but chooses a humble, uncredited approach to helping the Chu Household.
  • Venerable White demonstrates his knowledge and practical care by containing the spirit vein and arranging Song’s tribulation preparation. He also returns the patriarch safely.
  • Soft Feather gains confidence and a new skill by learning sword flight, bringing her closer to visiting her friend Chu Chunying.
  • Venerable Spirit Butterfly keeps his promise to Soft Feather while covertly manipulating events to turn the attackers into her training targets.
  • Other Shore Demon Lord is introduced as a powerful, eccentric specialist whose interests in explosives make him both an unusual ally and a source of comic unease.

Significant themes

  • Luck and danger: Song’s improbable encounter with the spirit vein is called lucky, though it would have been disastrous without White.
  • Preparation and responsibility: Song is reminded to prepare for his approaching Heavenly Tribulation rather than wait until it arrives.
  • Humility and altruism: Song helps the Chu Household without seeking credit.
  • Manipulation and irony: The attackers trust supposedly reliable intelligence that Spirit Butterfly’s people are deliberately feeding them.

Ch. 994Grotto-Heaven Abode

Key plot points and events

  • Venerable Spirit Butterfly has secretly fed the evil cultivators false intelligence. When they attack the Chu Household at a supposedly ideal moment, he plans to arrive with his daughter and teach them a lesson in information warfare.
  • Song Shuhang wakes at noon to find the Combat Beast Kangaroo—now roughly 1.3 meters tall—sprawled in his bed. He leaves it sleeping rather than risk another painful kick.
  • In the kitchen, Venerable White and Ye Si are preparing First-Grade Universal Beast Feed. Their previous batch made the kangaroo grow dramatically, so Ye Si insists they follow the recipe carefully. True Lord Eternal Fire points out that the Confucian School sells ready-made feed, but White prefers making it himself.
  • True Lord Eternal Fire offers to transfer eleven Grotto-Heaven Abodes to Shuhang that afternoon: one in Wenzhou and ten formed from fragments of the Ancient Heavenly Court. Shuhang accepts.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang remains cautious around the rapidly growing kangaroo, but is pleased that the gifted abodes fulfill his long-standing plan to protect his parents by moving them somewhere safe.
  • Venerable White remains curious and experimental, defending his earlier mishap with the beast feed and valuing the fun of raising spirit beasts over convenience.
  • Ye Si acts as the practical safeguard, urging White to follow the recipe and warning that the Invisible Saber Gu could suffer the same effects as the kangaroo.
  • True Lord Eternal Fire calmly assists with the cooking, teases White gently about buying feed, and shows gratitude to Shuhang through the generous gift.
  • Venerable Spirit Butterfly demonstrates strategic cunning by controlling the enemy’s information and preparing to exploit their mistaken assumptions.

Significant themes

  • Information warfare: False intelligence can shape an enemy’s decisions as decisively as direct force.
  • Protection and security: Shuhang’s new abodes offer a way to shield his family from danger.
  • Experimentation and unintended consequences: White’s playful tinkering repeatedly produces unpredictable results, requiring Ye Si’s caution.
  • Generosity and reciprocity: The Confucian School’s gift repays Shuhang’s kindness and helps him meet a personal goal.

Ch. 995Summer Palace

Summary

Key plot points and events

  • Song Shuhang declines to explore the grottoes with True Lord Eternal Fire at first; Venerable White stays behind to perfect universal beast food, while Ye Si remains with him and asks Shuhang to leave Blade Gu behind.
  • Fairy Eastern Six arrives with Xiao Cai. Xiao Cai has earned Merit Power after helping deliver thirteen wandering souls and asks Shuhang to teach her an arm-tempering technique so she can sharpen her wings and learn his saber arts.
  • Shuhang agrees to teach Xiao Cai Steel Hand, with the possibility of later teaching her more advanced body and saber techniques. He and True Lord Eternal Fire then set off to inspect eleven Confucian Grotto-Heaven Abodes, which the Confucian School plans to transfer to Shuhang in gratitude for his help.
  • Eastern Six gives Shuhang two sets of materials for a Tribulation-Transcending Formation, prepared as apprenticeship gifts for Xiao Cai.
  • The Crying Old Man appears nearby, having briefly sensed Shuhang’s aura but losing him when the Immortal Ark departs. He wants to find Shuhang before the university term begins, but feels too embarrassed to ask Venerable White for help because he never completed White’s earlier assignment.
  • On the way, Shuhang begins teaching Xiao Cai Steel Hand. After about half an hour, the group reaches the first abode: the Summer Palace.
  • The Summer Palace is a small fragment of the Ancient Heavenly Court’s palace of the Western Great Emperor, consisting of a stone stele and an approximately 50,000-square-meter crimson-stone square. Though its historical significance is limited, Shuhang is delighted by it and wonders whether he can store it in his Core World like the Winter Hall.

Character developments

  • Song Shuhang grows more invested in mentoring Xiao Cai and is thrilled by the chance to acquire another fragment of the Ancient Heavenly Court.
  • Xiao Cai is proud of her soul-delivery work and eager to develop a martial identity as a blade-winged “Vajra Gentleman Saber.”
  • Fairy Eastern Six supports Xiao Cai’s apprenticeship while privately worrying that Shuhang’s training will push the sparrow demon toward an increasingly unusual, heavily martial style.
  • The Crying Old Man remains determined to find Shuhang, but his guilt over failing Venerable White’s task keeps him from seeking White’s assistance.

Significant themes

  • Mentorship and identity: Xiao Cai’s ambition and Shuhang’s teaching help shape her distinctive path as a saber-wielding sparrow demon.
  • Merit and cultivation: Xiao Cai’s work delivering wandering souls earns Merit Power, while her training develops her physical abilities.
  • History and inheritance: The Summer Palace links Shuhang’s present acquisitions to the Ancient Heavenly Court and echoes the Winter Hall in his Core World.
  • Duty and embarrassment: The Crying Old Man’s unfinished assignment complicates his efforts to ask for help.

Character interactions

  • Shuhang praises Xiao Cai’s soul-delivery work, agrees to teach her Steel Hand, and invites her on the grotto tour.
  • Eastern Six provides Xiao Cai’s apprenticeship gifts and gives Shuhang the formation materials, while teasingly questioning the direction of Xiao Cai’s training.
  • True Lord Eternal Fire guides Shuhang and Xiao Cai to the Summer Palace and explains its origins and limited scope.
  • The Crying Old Man’s search contrasts with the friendly collaboration among Shuhang, Eastern Six, and Eternal Fire.

Ch. 996Do You Know What It Feels Like to Have a Cannon Pointed at Your Head?

Key plot points and events

  • True Lord Eternal Fire transfers ownership of Summer Palace to Song Shuhang through a Confucian ritual involving more than fifty thousand golden scripture pages. The palace’s formation lets Shuhang control its entrance, monitor the grounds, and direct its defenses. Its abundant spiritual energy also makes cultivation there especially effective.
  • Shuhang receives ten more Grotto-Heaven Abodes:
    • Blade-Sword Peak, haunted by the lingering Saber Intent and Sword Intent of two ancient rivals.
    • A small desert oasis; five fragments containing cold or hot Living Springs; Illusion City, useful for combat training; a vast, barren rock thought to be part of the Ancient Heavenly Court’s foundation; and a secluded, spirit-rich retreat near Wenzhou, designated for Shuhang’s family.
  • Eternal Fire returns Shuhang and Sparrow Demon Xiao Cai to Jiangnan University Town after their overnight tour. He explains that the gifts are modest compared with Shuhang’s help protecting the Confucian School’s Golden Lotus World.
  • Back home, Shuhang finds Senior White and Ye Si still making Universal Beast Food. Their second batch worked well, but Senior White had accidentally hatched all one thousand Invisible Sword Gu, leaving them with a thousand hungry mouths to feed.
  • Shuhang cultivates cautiously, mindful of his approaching Third-to-Fourth Realm tribulation. As he reflects on the new abodes and considers moving Summer Palace into his Core World, a spatial rift opens and a rune-covered black cannon points directly at his head.

Character developments and interactions

  • Shuhang gains substantial resources and a family retreat, and generously offers Xiao Cai access to all eleven abodes for cultivation. He remains practical about preparing for his tribulation, though he is also tempted by the possibilities of his new properties.
  • Xiao Cai is astonished by Shuhang’s extraordinary fortune and feels that choosing him as her master has greatly improved her prospects. She stays behind to help Senior White and Ye Si.
  • True Lord Eternal Fire completes the transfer and expresses the Confucian School’s gratitude to Shuhang.
  • Senior White and Ye Si have successfully prepared suitable food for the Invisible Sword Gu, but the accidental hatching of a thousand of them has turned the kitchen into an all-night production line. Senior White also plans to drive Shuhang to class in an enormous limousine, prompting Shuhang to dread the attention.
  • Shuhang and Xiao Cai share a playful master–disciple moment over the many abodes; Shuhang and Senior White joke about the Sword Gu and the impending spectacle of the limousine.

Significant themes

  • Gratitude and generosity: The Confucian School repays Shuhang’s protection with valuable abodes, and Shuhang passes some of their benefits on to Xiao Cai.
  • Cultivation and preparation: Spiritual resources matter, but Shuhang prioritizes steady preparation over rushing into his coming tribulation.
  • Comedy amid danger: The chapter’s lighthearted discussions of beast food, Sword Gu, and an absurd limousine end abruptly with the threatening cannon cliffhanger.

Ch. 997997. Getting This Bowl of Ganges Water Down—In My Next Life, I'll Still Be Indian

Key plot points and events

  • Senior White Two arrives through a spatial rift and gives Song Shuhang a powerful God-Slaying Cannon, promising to bring its matching child cannon later.
  • He eats Venerable White and Ye Si’s failed beast food, mistaking it for a snack. Song Shuhang avoids correcting him, then declines to eat any himself, worried it might cause dangerous mutations.
  • Song Shuhang recounts how he escaped the Stone Giant by redirecting it into the Netherworld Ruler’s Metal Sphere nest, where it was captured. He also explains that the Northern Great Emperor’s resurrection ended the forbidden-ground expedition and secured pills and auxiliary techniques to treat Yinzhu’s illness.
  • Song Shuhang mentions the Confucian School’s gift of several Grotto-Heaven Abodes, including fragments of the Ancient Heavenly Court. He hopes to move them into his Core World but needs help shrinking them.
  • Senior White Two leaves to capture a Netherworld creature related to the One-Inch Finger Snake. He returns with an “One-Inch Evil Dragon” and takes Song Shuhang to the Summer Palace fragment.
  • A Little Hamster disguised as Song Shuhang remains behind, annoyed that Song Shuhang is using Ancient Heavenly Court fragments to win its master’s favor—and considers peeing on his bed.
  • At the ruined Summer Palace, Senior White Two summons a Black Dragon and orders it to use the Black Dragon World Refinement Technique to shrink the fragment.

Character developments and interactions

  • Song Shuhang shows resourcefulness in recalling how he survived the Stone Giant, and tactfully protects Senior White Two’s dignity by not revealing the snack is beast food. His caution about eating it reflects his awareness of his own limits.
  • Senior White Two is generous, playful, and curious: he gives Song Shuhang the cannon, shares food, asks about his recent adventures, and readily helps with the Heavenly Court fragments.
  • Song Shuhang and Senior White Two share an easy, teasing rapport, though Song Shuhang privately feels guilty about letting Senior White Two eat the questionable food.
  • The disguised Hamster reveals resentment and jealousy toward Song Shuhang, setting up a comic contrast with Senior White Two’s friendly behavior.

Significant themes

  • Politeness and preserving dignity: Song Shuhang’s awkward silence echoes a story about Queen Victoria drinking hand-washing water to spare an Indian envoy embarrassment.
  • Power and vulnerability: Senior White Two can safely consume the dangerous beast food, while Song Shuhang must avoid it.
  • Practical cooperation: Song Shuhang’s ambition to bring Heavenly Court fragments into his Core World prompts Senior White Two to supply the expertise and help needed.

Ch. 998998. Song Shuhang Said He Wet the Bed

Key plot points and events

  • Venerable White Two wakes a tiny Black Dragon and orders it to shrink the Summer Palace, an Ancient Heavenly Court fragment. Song Shuhang gives the dragon administrator access to his Grotto-Heaven Abode so it can bypass the abode’s defenses.
  • White Two and Shuhang move the shrunken palace into Shuhang’s Core World, where it returns to full size and expands the world. They then collect three more Grotto-Heaven Abodes, further increasing the Core World’s area and spiritual energy. They plan to gather the remaining abodes.
  • While Shuhang is away, the Hamster Fiend impersonates him. When Ye Si comes to rest inside Shuhang’s body, the hamster panics and claims it has wet the bed to keep her at a distance.
  • Ye Si suspects something is wrong and tells Venerable White. White surrounds the building to prevent the impostor escaping. White Two realizes the hamster may be exposed and sends the real Shuhang back.
  • Shuhang finds the hamster cleaning a urine-stained blanket. The hamster admits to its prank, tosses him the blanket, then escapes in its true form. Ye Si and White arrive and recognize the real Shuhang, but the evidence makes his denial of bedwetting unconvincing.
  • Back at the Ninth Grotto-Heaven, White Two examines the Ancient Heavenly Court’s foundation stone. He believes it may be the original stone used by the Heavenly Emperor, and that its Ancient Era aura is what first drew his attention to Shuhang.

Character developments and interactions

  • Shuhang helps transfer the Heavenly Court fragments and enjoys watching his Core World grow, but is left embarrassed and angry by the hamster’s prank.
  • Venerable White Two directs the collection operation and reveals his interest in the foundation stone—and in the Ancient Era aura clinging to Shuhang.
  • The Black Dragon proves highly capable but is dismayed to discover that its “one job” has become a series of forced labor tasks.
  • The Hamster Fiend commits to its disguise with mischievous enthusiasm, turning a simple impersonation into a humiliating bedwetting gag before escaping.
  • Ye Si senses that the impostor lacks her usual connection with Shuhang. Her concern prompts White to investigate; once the real Shuhang returns, their familiar bond is restored.
  • Venerable White responds to Ye Si’s report by securing the building and checking the identity of the person in Shuhang’s room.

Significant themes

  • Comedy through misunderstanding and humiliation: The hamster’s desperate cover story creates an absurd situation that Shuhang cannot easily explain away.
  • Trust and recognition: Ye Si’s Spirit Ghost bond lets her feel that the impostor is not truly Shuhang, even before she knows why.
  • Power and expansion: The Core World’s growth reflects Shuhang’s increasing resources and the group’s ability to claim Ancient Heavenly Court remnants.
  • Destiny versus coincidence: White Two’s discovery of the foundation stone raises the possibility that Shuhang’s connection to the Ancient Era—and his involvement with these relics—is more than chance.

Ch. 999Teacher Sixteen

  • The Heavenly Court fragments expand the Core World: Senior White Two has the Black Dragon shrink the Ancient Heavenly Court’s original foundation stone and sends it to Song Shuhang. He tries to make a dramatic entrance through a Space Gate, but Ye Si recognizes his Nietzsche quotation, embarrassing him into closing the gate. Song Shuhang adds the stone to the Core World, where it joins the other fragments, restores its full size, and greatly increases the world’s spiritual energy. Venerable White suspects the pieces may be re-forming the Ancient Heavenly Court, though he sees no immediate danger. Song Shuhang decides to collect further fragments only if he happens upon them.
  • The Jade Lake realm remains on hold: Venerable White suggests moving the Jade Lake Celestial Realm into the Core World as well, but agrees to wait until Song Shuhang reaches Venerable strength or finds a substitute source of power that can keep it stable. He also wants more time to study the realm.
  • Ye Si prepares to advance: The fragments’ resonance gives Ye Si an insight that makes her feel ready to attempt the Grade-Six True Lord Realm. She plans to return alone to the Jadewater Pavilion and prepare for her tribulation. Venerable White warns that staying with Song Shuhang could cause their separate advancement tribulations to overlap and grow more dangerous. Song Shuhang gives her the Profound Ice and asks her to pass it to Li Yinzhu, along with a cultivation technique intended to help treat her Cold Syndrome. He also gives Ye Si the Sage Scripture, sensing she may need it.
  • Song Shuhang returns to university life: The next morning, Song Shuhang rides with Venerable White toward Jiangnan University Town, amused by the contrast between his ordinary student identity and his life as a cultivator. Shi joins them, while True Lord White Crane remains missing. Su Clan’s Sixteen pulls alongside them in another limousine and reveals she has applied for a teaching position in the university’s art department.
Character developments and interactions: Song Shuhang remains cautious but open to the Core World’s growth, and continues looking out for Li Yinzhu and Ye Si. Ye Si gains confidence in her advancement but chooses to face its preparations independently. Venerable White is curious about the ancient fragments and their possibilities. Senior White Two’s failed attempt at profundity provides a comic exchange with Ye Si, while Sixteen’s surprise career move closes the chapter. Themes include ancient history resurfacing, gradual cultivation and personal responsibility, the balance between curiosity and caution, and the humorous collision of extraordinary lives with everyday routines.

Ch. 1000An old gentleman with a maiden's heart?

Key plot points and events

  • Su Clan’s Sixteen reveals she has become an art teacher. Though she looks very young, she is a skilled painter trained by the famed Painting King, Master Xi.
  • Su Clan’s Seven says the Immortal Chef Banquet is planned for early October. Since he expects to be preparing for his Fifth-to-Sixth-Grade Heavenly Tribulation, Sixteen and other Su Clan disciples will accompany Song Shuhang instead. Sixteen chooses to travel with Shuhang and Venerable White rather than the main-clan disciples.
  • Seven’s promised cultivation opportunity in the First Layer of the Heavenly River Secret Realm is now poorly suited to Shuhang: he has advanced so rapidly that the realm’s resources are geared toward lower-grade cultivators. Seven offers to find more appropriate compensation, possibly materials for Shuhang’s future natal magical treasure.
  • Shuhang admits he has not decided what form that treasure should take. Seven urges him to choose and warns him not to rush toward the Fifth-Grade Realm, where forming a Golden Core with many dragon patterns is crucial. Shuhang agrees to advance carefully.
  • The group arrives at Jiangnan University Town in two conspicuous, extended sedans. Shuhang tries to avoid notice, but Venerable White draws a crowd by stepping out, and a white-haired Fifth-Grade cultivator, Crying Old Man, suddenly rushes over and embraces Shuhang in tears.
  • Crying Old Man explains that he has been searching for Shuhang and asks whether he knows the Heaven’s Weeping Canon; the chapter ends before he explains further.

Character developments and interactions

  • Sixteen shows confidence in her artistic ability and asserts her independence by choosing her own companions for the banquet.
  • Seven is disappointed to miss the banquet, but remains considerate of Shuhang’s changing needs and advises him on cultivation and treasure-making.
  • Shuhang’s extraordinary advancement becomes a running source of astonishment and envy among Sixteen, Seven, Xiao Cai, and little Shi. Despite his rapid progress, he recognizes the importance of patience before forming his Golden Core.
  • Venerable White casually joins the banquet plans and effortlessly commands attention, while his luck again seems to help his car enter campus without proper paperwork.
  • Crying Old Man’s dramatic reunion with Shuhang creates an abrupt, comic contrast with Shuhang’s attempts to stay unnoticed. White and Seven recognize the old man and ask why he is seeking Shuhang.

Significant themes

  • Rapid advancement versus careful cultivation: Shuhang’s unusual pace impresses others, but the chapter emphasizes that important breakthroughs—especially forming a Golden Core—require patience and preparation.
  • Changing obligations and rewards: Shuhang’s progress makes an earlier promised opportunity less useful, prompting Seven to rethink how best to repay him.
  • Comedy and public attention: Shuhang’s desire for a quiet campus arrival is repeatedly defeated by White’s magnetism and Crying Old Man’s spectacular entrance.
  • Companionship and choice: Sixteen’s decision to travel with Shuhang and White highlights her preference for trusted company over formal clan arrangements.
