Dirk: Finding His Groove, the "King" Takes Over! The Final Quarter.

First came the battle between the benches.

Jimmy Butler stepped up once again, helping the Knicks further extend their lead.

His offensive efficiency was not actually that high, but his defense put tremendous pressure on the Mavericks' bench.

After moving Terry into the starting lineup, the Mavericks' bench offense had not been particularly potent to begin with.

Butler's ferocious defense only further squeezed the Mavericks' bench unit's fighting strength.

Terry could not come back in yet.

He had already taken the floor with the starters.

He needed rest during this stretch as well. Forcing him back in would not only lead to a poor performance due to fatigue, but would also prevent him from taking part in the final battle.

That would be even worse.

Coach Rick Carlisle could only pray that the team would not fall too far behind Butler during these three minutes of rotations.

After being given enough touches, rookie Butler was having his way against the opposing bench.

By the end of the three-minute stretch, Butler had led his team to another 4-point advantage, giving the Knicks a 15-point lead.

The pressure on the Mavericks suddenly increased.

Beep! Beep!

Coach Carlisle hurriedly called a timeout and sent his starters back in.

The Knicks' starters returned as well.

The final eight-minute showdown had arrived.

On Nowitzki's first possession, he took the ball himself, bumped George aside, and looked as if he was about to shoot. Instead, he drove to the basket and caught everyone off guard with a made layup.

"You didn't shoot that? You still dared to challenge me?!"

Chandler was quite surprised. He secretly made up his mind that if Nowitzki dared to attack the basket again, he would send him a sky-covering block.
