An endless darkness.
Reilo felt weightless, like a homeless soul drifting in this directionless, dark space.
Loneliness, the unknown, fear.
"Is anyone there?"
Is anyone there? Is anyone there? Is anyone there? Is anyone there...?
"Hey!"
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey...!
Reilo shouted continuously, but only his own echo returned. Reilo walked a long distance forward, yet he couldn't find any reference points, nor did he know where the echo was coming from.
It felt like months had passed, an eternity.
Gradually, Reilo seemed to see a white point of light in the distance. In this dead, silent dark space, it was incredibly eye-catching.
Like a parched traveler in the desert finding an oasis, Reilo rushed towards it without hesitation. As he got closer, he realized it was a ball of milky white flame.
At the top of the flame, strange illusions flickered, like fragments of someone's memories.
"Who are you?"
Reilo asked tentatively. In the pitch-black space, Reilo couldn't even see his own appearance at this moment.
After a long while, the white light showed no reaction.
Reilo mustered his courage and moved closer, reaching out his palm. Illuminated by the milky white light, Reilo saw his own hand – it was pure black, devoid of any detail.
Yet, Reilo seemed unsurprised, as if it were naturally expected, like a dream.
Reilo's fingertips drew closer and closer to the milky white flame.
Poof!
The instant Reilo's fingertips were about to touch the milky white flame, the flame erupted with astonishing brilliance, as if illuminating the entire space.
In this endless milky white, Reilo's tiny black figure was like a candle flame in a gale, liable to be extinguished at any moment, leaving only a faint shadow.
The illusory memory fragments at the top of the flame also spread out with the diffusion of the milky white light.
"This is never our home!"
Gradually, the milky white light began to dim. With an angry roar, Reilo watched everything unfold before him like a cold bystander.
"This is..."
Reilo calmly observed everything, like a soul devoid of emotion.
The void of the universe, vast and boundless, rippled outwards like water waves with an astonishing fluctuation.
Immediately after.
A gray, hazy rift slowly opened in the center of the spatial ripples. The rift widened, as if something was pushing to break free from within.
Crack, crack, crack!
The sound of space tearing sucked in light and meteorites drifting in the nearby void. Accompanied by a magical azure glow, an unbelievably massive metal castle squeezed out of the spatial rift, floating in the vast, dark void.
Inside the metal castle, countless humans moved about, generally wearing two types of clothing.
Some wore light gold armor, their faces stern beneath metal helmets, appearing like a disciplined legion. Others wore loose gray robes, with a mysterious Hexagram symbol printed on their backs, seemingly a family crest.
Atop the metal castle, several high-ranking individuals looked down upon the strange world in the distant void.
It was a giant planet, its exterior wrapped in dense meteorites, and a peculiar moon emitting a faint reddish glow.
"This is the new world we've discovered. We can sense the refraction and dissipation of faith power from the nearby void, flickering like a lighthouse, marking it against the backdrop of the surrounding starry sky. Although no explorers have landed within this world yet, because its atmosphere is shrouded by dense meteorites, making it difficult for starlight to penetrate, we surmise that the laws of this world are in a state of eternal twilight. Therefore, we have tentatively named it the Night's Veil World."
A family member in a wide robe analyzed calmly.
"Faith power?"
The general from the military, accompanied by warriors of discipline and civilization, scoffed.
"Hmph, I wonder to what extent the gods of this world have gathered faith power. How does it compare to the terrifying level of the ancient alien races!"
"Since we mastered spacetime channel technology, we've begun attempting to explore the nearby void, contact civilizations from unknown worlds, and try to trade for better resources. Unfortunately, our space exploration technology is still in its nascent stage. The native creatures of the few worlds we've explored have all been rather unfriendly towards us."
"This is unavoidable. Worlds with different rules, different backgrounds, and different cultures, giving rise to different civilizations, are always filled with suspicion and fear towards unfamiliar beings from other worlds who suddenly appear."
Everything presented within the metal castle exuded power, civilization, rationality, discipline, and order.
"Strive for peaceful interaction as much as possible, and simultaneously, quickly analyze the world's high-energy material wealth and information on advanced life forms. Record it in the Star Core and send it back to Aurora. If the other party refuses peaceful interaction, analyze whether it's worth resorting to military conquest!"
Rumble, rumble!
The metal castle finally traversed the long void, squeezed through the meteorite shield of this strange world, and entered the atmosphere.
"Huh? It's not twilight!"
Upon discovering that the atmosphere was actually in daylight, someone muttered in surprise.
Beep, beep, beep!
Alarm! Alarm! Alarm!
Enveloped by unknown laws and order, influenced by an unknown Energy Magnetic Field, the power unit has failed, anti-gravity magnetic field escape failed, spatial barrier breakthrough failed, rescue message transmission failed. Affected by the world's gravity, the void fortress is about to fall. All units are to prepare for a forced landing. Countdown: 664, 663, 662...
The metal castle, stripped of its power, became a colossal fireball as it scraped against the atmosphere, emitting dull "rumbling" explosions as it plummeted from the sky towards the vast, desolate continent.
RUMBLE!
The earth-shattering collision kicked up dust that billowed into a massive mushroom cloud.
Impacted by the falling metal castle, fragments of rock shot skyward like fireworks before raining down, each piece burning with a crimson flame. They struck a corner of the desolate continent, where countless primitive creature tribes were caught in the shockwave and instantly annihilated. Such a natural disaster thoroughly alarmed the nearby civilized beings.
Meanwhile, inside the metal castle, casualties were heavy and chaos reigned.
"Star Core analysis!"
Amidst the unprecedented disaster, the star exploration technicians roared.
"Beep beep beep! Due to the unknown magnetic field of the Night's Veil World, infinite reflections occurred between the meteorite shield and the Night's Veil World. The void fortress's power unit, designed according to Aurora world's laws, has failed. Please detach from the Night's Veil World magnetic shield and contact the Aurora world immediately."
Everyone's faces turned ashen.
"This isn't the Night's Veil World at all! It's a world shielded by a layer of meteorites, isolated from the rest of the universe!"
In this world of bizarre laws, they endured incredible pressure and repulsion, while the entire world acted like a giant magnet, drawing them in.
Escaping the world's magnetic shield with their physical bodies was utterly impossible!
The mighty Gulan Civilization had endured for tens of thousands of years in this corner of the desolate continent.
In this vast, desolate corner, the Gulan Civilization enslaved the Dwarves to forge the finest weapons, captured the Elves, gouging out their most beautiful eyes as totemic sacrifices, and drove the enslaved Gnomes to construct magnificent Eye Pyramids...
Until one day.
A colossal metal castle, spewing thick smoke and burning with crimson flames, fell from the azure sky. A group of unfamiliar beings calling themselves humans intruded into this world.
They constantly gazed at the sky's moon with terror, attempting to fly higher and higher, unable to adapt to anything in this world.
They claimed to be from a world called Aurora, possessing incomprehensible power. After losing the ability to return, despair gradually sowed discord among them.
The Hexagram humans, with their terrifying strength, continuously exterminated surrounding native creature tribes, plundering their resources in search of a way back to the Aurora world.
The Armored Warrior humans, after repeated failures, abandoned further attempts and began to stop the Hexagram humans' genocidal slaughter. They even allied with surrounding native races, engaging in a protracted battle against the Hexagram humans in this desolate corner of the continent!
The Hexagram family warriors roared in anger: "You traitors! You dare to harbor yourselves here for pleasure and evade the constraints of family rules!"
The Golden Armored Warriors retorted: "You are waging a brutal, inhumane war of extermination! You will ultimately perish under the endless revenge of this world's native beings!"
Time passed, and the slaughter continued.
Hatred buried some.
"Burn those evil sorcerers, and let the world be eternal in light, fairness, and order!"
Like rats in the shadows, a member of the Hexagram family took out the spaceship's central Star Core, gazed at the stars in the night sky, and roared in despair: "This will never be our home!"
