A Separate Chapter

There were still a few things I wanted to talk to you all about.

When I was writing my last book, some readers said it was too padded and the pacing was too slow. Something that could fit in one chapter ended up taking two or three. There was no need to write out every part that did not really advance the plot.

That was indeed a fair point, and I would take in some of the suggestions from readers. The same went for this book.

Some readers hoped I would make the pacing even faster, preferably having the protagonist become an Overgod right away or something.

But I had my own outline as well. Before I even started writing this book, I had already finished the outline. If I wanted to change it, there would be far too many parts to revise.

This book started from a high point. If the pacing was too fast, it might be finished after only two or three hundred thousand words. At least to me, that would not be much different from an unfinished ending.

Maybe some readers simply liked that especially fast-paced feeling, but honestly, I wrote a fast-paced section in my previous book, and then some people said it was not detailed enough.

In truth, every style of writing affected some people's reading experience.

Whenever I was not busy, I read almost all of your comments. Some praised me, and some criticized me. To be honest, reading comments really affected my mood, but I still kept reading them. This was also the only way for me to take in your opinions.

I could understand your thoughts too. I used to enjoy reading Coiling Dragon fanfiction, and when it was poorly written, I could not help complaining about it either. If someone wrote too slowly, it was tiring to follow the updates. It was even more frustrating when I spent money following a story and it suddenly stopped updating.

In short, I wanted to say that I would adopt some of your suggestions. Where things should be glossed over, I would gloss over them. Where details should be written out, I would follow my own pacing. I could not change the outline just because of one or two people's feelings, since I had to consider the experience of the majority of readers.

Finally, I still wanted to thank you all for following along. Your votes, comments, and continued reading were truly the motivation that kept me updating.

At the very least, your presence let me feel the meaning of writing this book.
