The witches in the distance were already used to the Werewolf Clan's ways. One of them studied Ji Xinghe closely, her brows furrowed. "Tsk... I feel like I've seen them somewhere before."
Suddenly, she cried out.
She tugged at the witch beside her. "Right, isn't she in the portrait the High Priest put out? Take a look. Isn't she one of the people the High Priest is hunting?"
The witch beside her looked at Ji Xinghe and nodded. "That's her. I saw her at a Witch Clan banquet before."
She turned to her clanswoman. "Stay here and keep watch. I'll go back and report to the High Priest."
With that, she quietly withdrew from the battlefield.
But without her knowing, another witch had left even faster.
On the battlefield, the Dwarf Clan was making great headway.
When the werewolves suddenly charged at Ji Xinghe, eyes full of murderous intent, she swung her sword at them.
The werewolf fell at her feet. Stepping on his corpse, Ji Xinghe thrust her sword viciously at his clansmen.
The red markers on the battlefield were growing fewer and fewer.
Just as everything seemed to be going their way, a witch at the very back of the group rolled her eyes, stepped forward, and shouted, "Enough! Stop fighting!"
She glared indignantly at Ji Xinghe and the others. "All right, adventurers, stop killing! You were guests whom the Saintess treated with great hospitality. How can you turn your blades against us?"
Then she turned to the Dwarves. "Dwarves, open your eyes! These adventurers are a bunch of ungrateful wretches."
"They can help you fight the Witch Clan and the Werewolf Clan today, then turn around and wipe you out tomorrow."
"This is a matter between our three clans. Outsiders shouldn't be involved."
