Extreme Night Wilderness Survival: Stone Wall, Shelter

After climbing the steep slope, passing through the woods, and crossing a patch of scattered rocks, Wang Yu returned to the place where he planned to build his shelter.

The 'fire basin' beside the massive boulder had gone out. Wang Yu added firewood to it and lit it with a torch, making the fire pit burn again.

Wang Yu sat down to rest. This trip had been quite rewarding: he had picked up 36 water snails, obtaining Water Snail Meat 10g*36. He now had Water Snail Meat 10g*66, along with 72 copper coins.

Besides that, he had shot a big fish with his crossbow, obtaining 320g of Pincer Fish Meat and 37 copper coins.

Wang Yu took out two skewers of water snail meat and decided to have a good meal tonight. He placed the skewers over the fire to roast.

With a dull thud, the ground trembled. Wang Yu hurriedly stepped back two paces.

He could control where the boulder appeared, so he had made it appear directly on the ground.

He also knew that if the boulder appeared too high up, its tremendous weight would surely smash a big pit into the ground when it fell.

He had not expected it to cause such a commotion even when it appeared on the ground. The boulder's weight was truly enormous.

After placing the first boulder, Wang Yu continued with the second. On the marked spot on the ground on the other side, he placed the second boulder.

"Boom!"

The ground was struck into a raised mound again, but Wang Yu remained much calmer this time.

After placing the second boulder, Wang Yu checked it as well. The second released boulder was also pressed against the stone wall of the original boulder, and the gap between them was only a few centimeters wide.

There was no opening above the connection between these two boulders.

That was because the notch was at the upper-left corner of the second boulder's stone wall, while the place where it connected to the original boulder was on the boulder's right side. After placing the two boulders, Wang Yu stood within a U-shaped stone enclosure.

The original boulder stood in front of him, the first released boulder was on his right, and the second was on his left. The 5.3-meter-wide stone walls of the two newly appeared boulders faced each other three meters apart. This had been Wang Yu's design.

The space inside these stone walls was Wang Yu's shelter, a shelter 5.3 meters long and 3 meters wide.

Inside the stone enclosure, Wang Yu used rocks to build a fire basin, then lit a fire pit. He also placed some of the dry wood he had collected inside the stone walls.

Then Wang Yu walked out of the stone enclosure and released the final boulder, sealing the U-shaped stone-walled space.

With that, all three boulders added by the dice had been released. The main structure of his shelter was complete, but he had also shut himself outside it.

Wang Yu was not in a hurry. He had already designed the shelter. If the dice increased the number of boulders by three or more, he had a novel idea for building it.

Now Wang Yu needed to cut down trees. There was a patch of woods on the way to the creek, and it was close by, so Wang Yu decided to chop trees there.

Holding up his torch, Wang Yu entered the woods. There were many big trees here, mostly birch trees and cedar wood.

Wang Yu also saw a cedar tree over 60 centimeters thick. It was probably several tens of meters tall, and he could not see its top. It was likely the thickest big tree nearby.

In the end, Wang Yu chose a cedar tree seven centimeters thick.

The fire pit could provide light and drive away wild beasts.
