Silent Heaven, Cloud Illusion Palace.
This sect stood atop Cloud Illusion Mountain, a million li above the ground. All around it, white clouds drifted, and spiritual mist surged like spring water from the peaks. Its ethereal surroundings made it seem as though the sect had been built within an immortal realm, carrying something of the authentic Daoist tradition.
Though Cloud Illusion Palace was neither particularly large nor renowned across all of Silent Heaven, the scale and style of its buildings were highly extraordinary. This was chiefly thanks to the favors bestowed upon it by the Marquis of Wu'an of Silent Heaven.
Because Sang Xuanyu's younger sister had married the Marquis of Wu'an, when one man attained the Dao, even his chickens and dogs ascended to heaven. Cloud Illusion Palace had thus shared in no small amount of glory and wealth.
The sect's buildings were divided into upper, middle, and lower tiers, arranged from top to bottom along the body of Cloud Illusion Mountain. The highest tier was the grandest and most magnificent, wrapped in exceptionally dense spiritual mist. It housed the sect's main hall for grand assemblies, as well as the rear hall where Palace Master Sang Xuanyu resided.
The two tiers below were where the elders and disciples of the inner and outer sects cultivated and lived on a daily basis. The overall architecture was likewise imposing.
From the foot of Cloud Illusion Mountain, only one broad road led to the buildings of Cloud Illusion Palace.
At this moment, five towering, formidable black-horned rhinoceros-horse demonic beasts were pulling large wooden carts swiftly up the mountain road.
Before long, the convoy arrived before the sect's stone stele, where two outer sect elders and ten disciples stood guard.
