Mei Chengyu was amused by the back-and-forth between master and disciple. He flipped the chair upright and lay back down, then crooked a finger at Yu Sui. "Your turn."
Yu Sui pressed her palms together. A wisp of golden Five Elements Qi rose from them, moving with her thoughts. With a wave of her hand, it formed a drawing in a single stroke.
The moment the Five Elements Qi took shape, Mei Chengyu flicked a finger and shattered it with a burst of energy. "Too slow."
Yu Sui didn't get annoyed. She kept gathering Qi and shaping it. After dozens of rounds, each attempt was faster than the last, but Mei Chengyu still showed no mercy, shattering every one before she could finish.
"Senior Martial Brother, could you set a time limit for how long I have to form it before you shatter my curse character?" Yu Sui asked.
Mei Chengyu raised his chin. "No."
Yu Sui blinked. Mei Chengyu continued, "The speed at which you form a curse character is crucial. You may be able to make it in one stroke, but if you're too slow, your opponent will already be right under your nose, ready to kill you."
Sage Chang Gen added, "You mustn't just memorize a curse character's shape. Every 'curse' has a corresponding form. A mountain curse reveals a mountain; a water curse reveals water. Once you can perceive the form of a curse, you'll be one step ahead."
That meant using the Ghost Dao School's introductory method: Seven Senses Emptied.
It allowed one to sense the Qi and forms of everything around them with greater speed and accuracy.
Yu Sui followed Sage Chang Gen's instructions and used the curse character for "mountain" again. The speed at which the Five Elements Qi took shape was visibly
