Under the stiff but precise guidance of the skeletons, Gu Su and his group quickly arrived at the place where they had previously clashed with the goblins.
He only glanced around the surroundings and immediately determined that this dilapidated street corner was the goblins' lair.
This was once a street corner. The cement on the ground had long been cracked and broken by tree roots, with fallen leaves and soil filling the cracks, making a crunching sound underfoot.
The sewer manhole cover on the side of the street had long since disappeared, leaving only a dark opening.
A mixed scent of blood and rot was continuously pouring out from within, stinging the nostrils.
Centering on this sewer entrance, the weeds within a radius of half a meter had been roughly cleared, revealing the bare cement ground.
Near the opening, a simple fence had been erected using crooked wooden stakes and extremely tough vines, barely qualifying as a defensive fortification.
Under a tree outside the fence, a simple campfire made of stones was burning brightly.
Flames licked at the roasting rack set up above, on which was skewered half the corpse of a humanoid creature with a dog's head.
The charred flesh sizzled and dripped oil, emitting a strange, roasted aroma.
These were Kobolds, a notoriously weak race in Western fantasy worlds.
Beside the campfire, five goblins sat around, gnawing on pitted bones in their hands.
When Gu Su appeared at the intersection with seven armed skeletons, they froze on the spot like mice whose tails had been stepped on, their faces filled with shock and fear.
Especially the large goblin that the skeletons had specifically pointed out.
It was a head taller than its kin, draped in a tattered beast hide, and clutched a red banner in its hand.
At this moment, the small eyes of this goblin leader held no trace of its previous arrogance, only naked fear.
Its greenish pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks, staring fixedly at the neatly lined-up skeletons behind Gu Su.
The roasted meat on the fire continued to sizzle, but the atmosphere in the scene had dropped to freezing point.
"Take them down!" The moment Gu Su's low command fell, the seven skeletons immediately charged.
Four skeletons wielding maces took the lead, their thick bone arms swinging their weapons with a whistling sound, smashing them into the nearest goblins.
A dull thud and the goblins' shrill screams and curses exploded simultaneously. Two goblins were immediately knocked to the ground, struggling to get up.
One goblin was killed on the spot.

Seeing this, the tall, burly goblin leader leaped up.
It raised a red banner high with both hands, the banner fluttering in the wind. Its body then twisted, performing a strange and eerie dance. A faint red light flickered around the edges of the banner, clearly indicating it was about to activate a resurrection ability to revive its fallen subordinates.
But Gu Su was prepared. The three skeletons responsible for the rear immediately turned around, forming a triangle formation to surround it. Their speed was far beyond the goblins' imagination.
Seizing this opening, Gu Su's gaze locked onto the charred, oil-dripping Kobold corpse on the roasting rack. He instantly gathered pale gray necromantic energy at his fingertips and said in a deep voice, "Animate Dead!"

The pale gray energy instantly enveloped the Kobold corpse. The charred flesh melted away at a visible rate, leaving only a skeleton with roasting marks.
The newly formed skeleton had just crawled up from beside the campfire. Before it could even pull out the wooden stick it was skewered on, it stumbled under Gu Su's command and lunged at the goblin leader that was being entangled.
The goblin leader had not expected an ambush from behind at all.
Hit hard on the back by the new skeleton, it lost its balance, flying backward. The red banner in its hand almost slipped, and it crashed heavily onto the gravel-strewn ground.
The surrounding skeletons seized this fatal opening, raising their wooden clubs, stones, and maces, smashing down on the fallen leader.
In just a few blows, the goblin leader's head was smashed like a watermelon, splashing red and white fluids everywhere, staining the surrounding gravel.

As soon as the system notification sounded, the remaining three goblins completely lost all morale.
They looked at their leader's corpse, letting out heart-wrenching screams of terror. Without even a thought of resistance, they turned and fled madly in two directions: towards the sewer opening and deeper into the ruins.
In such a situation, how could the skeleton soldiers let the goblins escape so easily?
Gu Su did not issue new orders, but the skeleton squad spontaneously formed a pincer movement.
Several skeletons quickly moved to the front to intercept, while the rest closely pursued, giving the fleeing enemies no chance to breathe.
In just a few exchanges, the three panicked goblins were cornered by the skeletons. After a few screams, they all became souls under the skeletons' command.

After all the goblins had fallen in a pool of blood, Gu Su slowly took two steps forward. His gaze swept over the five goblin corpses lying scattered on the ground. He raised his hand, pointed at them, and said in a deep voice, "Animate Dead!"
Accompanied by a "crackling" sound of bones bursting, the five goblin corpses exploded simultaneously.
Pale gray necromantic energy surged with shattered bones, and three new pale yellow skeletons slowly crawled out from the pile of corpses. Faint wisps of spectral fire flickered in their empty eye sockets, and they obediently bowed to await orders.

As the three new skeletons rose, Gu Su's gaze was firmly locked onto one of them.
This was the skeleton transformed from the Goblin Shaman's corpse. A star-shaped shallow mark was clearly carved on its forehead, with a faint light flowing within the carving – the unique mark of a magic-type skeleton.

A glint flashed in Gu Su's eyes, and the corners of his mouth curved upwards.
A skeleton with magic potential like this was quite rare, considered a rare gem.
Setting aside the others, it wouldn't be a problem for it to grow into a suitable Skeleton Mage in the future.
This harvest made Gu Su quite happy. However, Gu Su also understood in his heart that the success rate of battlefield necromancy was still inferior to the success rate of using a graveyard combined with necromancy spells for transformation.
No wonder everyone yearns for a golden finger talent.
The difference between having this thing and not having it is immense.
