I had already drifted out of the car and was now standing outside, looking at the five people inside. From the way they looked, they seemed to be a family of five. But on closer inspection, the two couples didn't seem that far apart in age; they all looked to be in their thirties or forties, while the little girl looked about ten.
The older-looking couple and the little girl were in the back seat. They had been thrown upside down and were groaning in pain. The younger couple had been in the front, and neither had worn a seat belt. Their injuries were even worse; they were both covered in blood.
The little girl had been sitting behind the passenger seat. Her small, supple body let her squeeze out through the shattered window first. She wiped her tears, but the broken glass had cut her palm, and she smeared blood across her face.
"Dad, Mom..." The little girl was crying as she looked toward the driver's seat.
The couple struggled to turn themselves around and tugged at the door handle.
The girl hurried over to help.
At last, the driver's-side door—which was intact—opened. The two people in the front climbed out, then went to help the people in the back.
All of them were injured. They were either bleeding or had broken bones, and they looked miserable.
"Just now, that... that..." The older woman clutched her arm and asked in a shaky voice.
I realized that I had possessed the little girl. Her mind was blank, still caught in the panic after the crash. Fragments of her memories flooded into my consciousness.
