Blackie didn't answer Mo Xiaoling's question.

Unable to see, Mo Xiaoling could only tighten her grip on Blackie's hand and move as close to her as possible.

I carefully sensed the fluctuations of that yin energy.

The yin energy wasn't moving. It was staying in one place, churning and bubbling like boiling water.

I realized Blackie was having that ghost batter something. Was she trying to force her way through the illusion before us?

I found it hard to believe.

I wasn't sure how Wu Ling and the others had entered the abandoned farm, or how they had left, but Wu Ling probably didn't keep ghosts. And if she had forced her way through, she wouldn't have done it this way. Besides, I'd spoken with Wu Ling around the time of that incident, and she'd seemed perfectly fine. She hadn't looked like she'd had to struggle hard to see the whole thing through.

If I judged by this alone, Blackie was far weaker than Wu Ling.

But when I thought of the records about the "abandoned farm," I realized things weren't quite that simple.

It was difficult for people trapped in an alternate space to leave.

Whether the abandoned farm was now an alternate space, or merely a plot of land that caused people to hallucinate, I couldn't say.

The fluctuations of yin energy surged, and the ghost's wailing nearly pierced my eardrums.

In an instant, Mo Xiaoling's ears started ringing. All she could hear was a buzzing hum.

I couldn't hear anything else, either.

I was surrounded by darkness, and now I'd lost my hearing.

Mo Xiaoling grabbed Blackie's arm with both hands. Blackie didn't resist, but that did nothing to reassure her. Mo Xiaoling even began to wonder whether the arm she was holding really belonged to Blackie.
