The old woman seemed completely unaware of the strange things happening before her. She continued eating slowly, muttering now and then as if she were saying something.
Wang Xiaoshuai had definitely noticed something was wrong, too. I saw beads of sweat trickling down his forehead. He sat ramrod straight, not daring to move.

The tall figure and the small one stared at the back of Ren Pi's head.
I stepped forward, wanting to grab them both.
If they were possessed by demons, they should have reacted somehow.
But the two seemed unable to see me at all. When I grabbed their arms, neither showed the slightest awareness.
I furrowed my brow.
It was as though time, which had stopped, began to flow again.
Confusion appeared on the woman's face. "Honey, what are you standing there for?"
Her voice was the same as before, but her tone was completely different.
The little girl looked puzzled, too.
Wang Xiaoshuai stared at the two of them for a while, then let out a heavy breath.

The woman stood up. "Are you all right?"
Ren Pi looked at the woman, then at his daughter. He turned back and looked at the phone.
A light was on, indicating that there was a recording.
Ren Pi's body trembled slightly.
"Huh? Did someone call just now?" The woman walked over to Ren Pi and asked in surprise, then kept going.
"Wait!" Ren Pi called out.
The woman stopped and turned sideways to look at him.
