Nantian scrambled up from the ground and stared at his hands for a long time.
"Hey, what exactly is your ability?" the skinny man pressed.
I stared at Nantian too.
When I touched that ball of light, nothing happened. But when Nantian touched it, the door to the other space opened. I absolutely didn't believe there wasn't something fishy going on.
Nantian raised his head. "I don't have my brother's kind of ability. I don't have any other abilities, either."
The skinny man and I wore identical expressions.
Nantian shook his head. "I really don't have any abilities. Just now... I only touched it to try it out." He let out a breath. "You should both know what my brother's ability is, right? If anything were going to happen to me, he'd definitely see it. If he didn't see anything..."
My face darkened.
This brat had used Nangong Yao's ability to test things out. I didn't know whether I should commend his clear thinking and courage, or curse him out for being a goddamn idiot.
"Your brother's ability has already been mostly sealed. The future he can see is different from before, too." I gave Nantian the bad news.
Nantian looked bewildered, then his face darkened as well. He covered his forehead. "Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"
"Who could've known you'd be so reckless?" the skinny man said.
"Fine. What do we do now?" Nantian lowered his hand and quickly reverted to his usual optimistic self.
My head began to ache. "Did you feel anything at the time?"
Nantian thought for a moment. "Not really. It felt a bit like static electricity, that's all. There was also a huge suction force. Nothing else."
I looked at the skinny man. He nodded in agreement and had nothing to add.
