Although I had been prepared for it, seeing the figures made the bleak road ahead feel real.
The driver had just heard the thin man's question, and his expression turned strange.
"Haunted? You mean the hospital? I heard the morgue at the Second Hospital around here isn't very peaceful. They say corpses come out at night." The driver tried to remember and offered an answer.
Ghost stories about hospital morgues were so common. It seemed like every forensic medicine school, hospital, funeral home, and police station morgue was haunted. I didn't know whether it was just a widespread preconception or if supernatural incidents had really happened in all of them.
"Judging by your accents, you're locals, right? Why would you want to go to... um..." The driver trailed off.
The thin man laughed awkwardly.

A population of over two million was huge. But compared to the entire internet, the two million people in one district of People's Celebration City were just a drop in the ocean. There was no way to keep getting new posts every moment. There was little about Yangshan District in the old news, either. Most of it was local People's Celebration City news, or reports put out by the Yangshan District government or its subdistricts. There wasn't much else.
