Dr. Luo saw that I wasn't answering and waved to me from upstairs. "Come on up. I'm in Room 414. It's the only room with power. But there's no food or water."
I broke out in an even heavier cold sweat.
I hadn't checked the room number earlier. And that number was unlucky, too.
Dr. Luo stared at me, looking rather interested.
I thought it over, then headed toward the inpatient building.
Facing him head-on gave me at least a chance to catch him and kill him with my ability. If he attacked me from behind, I'd have a much harder time dealing with him.
Once I'd made up my mind, I went upstairs.
I hadn't felt tired going down, but after circling around and climbing up and down, I was exhausted by the time I started climbing again.
I deliberately slowed down to recover some of my strength. Unfortunately, there was no way to recover from the hunger and thirst.
When I reached the fourth floor, I saw Dr. Luo waiting for me outside the room.
He waved to greet me.
That gesture looked like something straight out of a classic ghost movie, too.
I couldn't figure out how directors came up with terrifying scenes for ghost movies. Was it pure imagination, or had they actually seen these things with their own eyes? And how had they come up with the idea of ghosts showing people terrifying hallucinations? Weaker ghosts had to make people feel fear before they could kill them. Had those ghosts taken inspiration from ghost movies?
Lost in my thoughts, I walked toward Dr. Luo step by step.
Dr. Luo smiled. The light fell across his face, and the angle made his expression look rather sinister.
"Come in." Dr. Luo turned and went into the room
