Shen Xiaorong's proposal tempted me.
He had reincarnated so many times while retaining his memories, then waited in the underworld for so many years. Someone like him, with all those connections, was without a doubt the best "coordinate."
However, Shen Xiaorong had probably appeared many years after Mo Wen. He hadn't been the first ghost.
Shen Xiaorong caught on to some of my thoughts and urged me again. "You're looking for someone, or maybe a ghost, right? I know quite a few souls and should be able to help. Just tell me what you're looking for. I'll find the soul you want. If you're not comfortable with that, you can ask the young lady you met earlier to cast a spell. Every country should have spells that can bind people by contract. I'm fine with that."
Shen Xiaorong could hardly have been more sincere. He was practically begging me to let him help, no matter what.
I knew he had an ulterior motive, and I knew that letting these ghosts out would bring risks.
But the help Shen Xiaorong could offer me was indeed important.
As long as the whole world could start over and the supernatural was erased from it, no matter how many schemes Shen Xiaorong had or how powerful he was, all the memories and experience he had retained would become meaningless. More accurately, they would cease to exist. They would never have existed at all.
I truly had no need to worry about whatever tricks Shen Xiaorong might try.
The only question was whether Shen Xiaorong could find souls from that far back.
I thought it over for a while, then asked, "What time periods can you find souls from?"
Shen Xiaorong considered this for a moment. "Basically, I can find you souls from any time
