"Roar—"
The beast's roar made my eardrums ache.
The nerves in my brain throbbed with pain, too.
The tearing pain brought my consciousness fully back.
I felt myself flying, my body spinning nonstop. The scenery around me spun, too.
The sky, the ground, the monster...
Blood...
So much blood...
I jolted, and my spinning body came to a stop.
I sensed something behind me. When I turned around, I saw a black hole.
It was the entrance to another dimension.
The enormous snake head, with fangs, fish scales, and antlers, flew into the black hole and disappeared.
I turned back and saw the snake-like monster still lying on the ground. Its body was long and slender like a snake, but it had legs. Beneath its sharp claws was another monster.
I focused on it and realized it wasn't a monster.
It was a ghost.
The ghost's yin energy spread out, forming a strange-looking body, which was pinned beneath the headless demon.
The demon twisted its long body. Blood poured from the stump of its neck like water bursting through a breached riverbank.
The ghost was drenched, making it impossible to see what he looked like.
The only thing I could be possessing was this demon.
I slowly descended from the air, wanting to get a better look at the ghost and see what was happening around me.
From above, I could see that this was a wilderness, with no signs of human activity.
There were claw marks in the grass, presumably left by the demon.
The tracks stretched into the distance.
The ghost and the demon must have struggled all the way here. The demon caught the ghost, and the ghost cut off its head.
