When the video opened, a man appeared on screen.
He was young, looking no older than his twenties, with the completely unfamiliar face of a foreigner.
He introduced himself as Veritas001, the creator of Spirit Search, and gave his real name as Steve Smith. He was a gaming enthusiast whose university major was computer science. He had made Spirit Search as a hobby, with help from many of his friends. Some were online friends he had never met; some lived across oceans and continents, in other countries and among other peoples.
"...Of all of them, the friend I'm most grateful to is the artist who drew Spirit Search. He created every image in the game. Back then, we were both young college kids. He taught me his country's language and gave me a lot of advice. The person who contributed the most to Spirit Search, the soul of the game, wasn't me. It was him. After two seconds of silence, Steve mentioned Bai An by name.
"Bai An had a huge influence on Spirit Search. But what I want to say is that Spirit Search wasn't originally like this. You must have been surprised when you saw the video. A foreigner made a game in your native language, and released it only on a gaming platform in your country... I'm not mixed-race, and I never studied abroad.
