The crowd gathered around, making all kinds of noise.
Even though we couldn't touch them, and they couldn't even see us, the situation still made me feel uncomfortable.
I left the room and saw Qin Shu standing in a corner of the hallway. He was watching me, too. I noticed that his expression was strange, and the way he looked at me was off.
I said nothing.
The three of us waited for Xu Jiu to calm down. He had been the one most deeply shaken. The person who'd died was his coworker. Whether what we were seeing was a real scene or some trick conjured up by this space, it felt far too real. At least, nothing about what had just happened seemed out of place. Even if you suspected it was fake, you couldn't help being affected.
The room was cordoned off, and the people who'd been watching were ushered away. The police arrived soon after.
Only then did Xu Jiu come out. He was silent, as if he'd become a different person.
The hallway grew utterly quiet. There was some whispering from the other end, but it wouldn't interfere with our conversation.
"Can you... see things?" Qin Shu finally asked.
I nodded and admitted, "I can see a few things. It's a bit like having yin-yang eyes, I guess. I can see them and touch them. That's about it."
Qin Shu fell silent again, looking at me with a complicated expression.
"Did you see the ghost?" Xu Jiu asked.
"No. I only saw a dark shadow." I explained it in a way they could accept.
Now that we were in here, there wasn't much I could do. If I could use my ability quickly enough to speed up the reversal of time, I might be able to
