The change in the yin energy was violent and unmistakable. It seemed to affect the entire space. Everything I saw was veiled in a smoky haze—not from the yin energy, but from a strange distortion like static on a screen.

I could hear Lina's account, but the scenery looked different to me.

I saw the old Morris Town she had described. It was more primitive and run-down than the town we were in now, and its buildings were older. The people walking through it wore clothes from an earlier era. They looked alarmed, anxiously discussing something.

I saw a mass of yin energy rise in the town. A ghost was wandering through it.

Day turned to night. People sleeping in their homes were attacked. Screams and sobs rang through the town, but no one came to save them. Everyone else hid in their homes, reciting prayers, closing their eyes and covering their ears.

The victim ran as the ghost chased him. He became the ghost's plaything and was slowly killed. Then the ghost hung him from the bell tower of the town's tallest church.

When morning came, everyone saw the terrifying corpse hanging there.

Panic spread through the town, but no one could escape.

Perhaps it was because of the limitations of the era. The townspeople couldn't leave, and they couldn't do anything about the ghost.

Among the crowd, I saw a little girl holding a shabby, crudely made doll. It was fashioned from rags and straw, much like that puppet toy—both were rough handmade creations.

The girl clutched the doll and followed her parents. She didn't quite understand what was happening in the town, but she was just as frightened as the adults.

Bodies kept appearing in the bell tower, and the townspeople were killed one by one.
