The three people sat inside the car. They couldn't hear anything else and could only see what was inside.

Outside, the taxi's sudden stop forced the other cars to stop too. A couple of horns blared, and someone shouted a curse, but the traffic quickly flowed around the taxi and continued on its way.

People outside could see the three terrified passengers inside the taxi. A passing car pulled over and rolled down its window. The driver called out to them several times and even knocked on the taxi window.

Like the horns and curses before him, his shouts never reached the three passengers, but they all heard him knocking on the glass.
