Li Wangxi stared stiffly at the patient in the bed.
The man was very weak, frowning as if he were enduring pain.
It would have been easy for Li Wangxi to kill him. She could think of all kinds of ways to kill the man right there without raising suspicion. If she were clever about it, no one would even find out afterward.
Li Wangxi's hand stopped as she went to remove the IV. She was torn up inside, struggling and wavering, and she was afraid.
"Nurse, is something wrong? Is there something wrong with me?" The patient had noticed that Li Wangxi still hadn't moved.
Li Wangxi shook her head and took a deep breath. She removed the IV needle and took down the empty IV bag.
"Do I still need another one today? Is this the last bag?"
Li Wangxi nodded silently, her eyes lowered. Holding the empty IV bag, she headed outside.
She hurried back to the nurses' station and saw that her colleague had returned.
Li Wangxi sat right down, still holding the empty bag.
"Li Wangxi, what's wrong with you?" her colleague asked with a frown, her tone noticeably more serious.
Li Wangxi looked at her colleague blankly, then realized she had been distracted. She got up and went into the office behind the nurses' station, where she threw the empty bag away.
Leaning against the edge of the large bin, Li Wangxi's shoulders began to tremble. Tears were about to fall.
She was finding it hard to control her emotions.
She couldn't bring herself to kill someone, but she also couldn't face her own death calmly.
