The fingers lunged at the unfamiliar woman and grabbed her calf.

She wore thick, winter-weight nude stockings, but the nails still tore through them, leaving several bloody scratches on her leg.

The woman screamed.

The man stepped forward, grabbed a few severed fingers, and yanked hard.

As they struggled, the fingernails dug into the woman's leg, while the man pulled the fingers free.

I reached out and wiped the nails away. But I didn't treat the woman's injuries.

When I looked up, I saw her trembling, her gaze fixed behind me.

"Big Brother!" Mu Ai cried out anxiously.

I turned and saw a hand appear at the edge of the elevator shaft. It clutched the floor as it struggled to climb up.

The woman's head emerged from the elevator shaft. She stared at us with wide eyes.

"Help me... help me... somebody, help me..." As she spoke, she coughed up blood, and blood ran down her head.

Soon, more hands reached out of the elevator shaft.

The people who had fallen earlier climbed out one after another, calling for help in flat voices and leaving bloody smears on the floor.

I walked over.

Mu Ai tugged at me, trying to stop me.

"It's all right," I reassured her, then continued forward and stood in front of them.

They had already become corpses, controlled by yin energy.

I looked down into the elevator shaft. It was pitch-black, though light shone down from above.
