I walked closer and saw that the nearest toy person's body parts looked like living human tissue, but the joints were wooden spheres. Its eyes, too, looked like human eyeballs forcibly stuffed into their sockets. They were real, but horribly unnatural.
Another toy dog looked like a real dog as well, but I could see stitching on its mouth and paws. It had been deliberately made to look like a cute toy.
The architectural style of the whole town hadn't changed at all. It still had that sense of being from another era; it hadn't turned into a toy castle town for children.
