Zhang Hao broke out in a cold sweat. "Could anyone notice the control? Could someone die?"
No one would notice. As for whether anyone would die, that was up to you. If you wanted to kill someone you controlled, all it would take was a thought to cut off the blood supply to their heart.
Zhang Hao was horrified. "Hey, hey, I don't want to kill anyone!"
I'm not telling you to kill anyone. I'm just making sure you know that if you wanted to kill someone you controlled, all it would take was a thought. Of course, that's your decision. Whether or not to kill is up to you. You have that right.
Zhang Hao breathed a sigh of relief. "All right, as long as it's up to me." He had no intention of killing anyone. He lived in a peaceful era and was a peaceful person. He wouldn't even entertain the thought of killing someone, let alone actually do it.
Besides, you now have three skills.
Zhang Hao was surprised. "What? I get skills too? What are they?"
One is language proficiency, and another is perfect recall. It's not that you have perfect recall; the Nano-machine inside you gives it to you.
Zhang Hao understood at once. A screen could appear before his eyes, and tracing or searching for anything was easy.
"What's the second skill?"
The second skill... has to do with alcohol.
Zhang Hao froze. Alcohol? What did that have to do with anything?
Yes, drinking alcohol. The Nano-machine inside you stores and runs on alcohol as its energy source. You need to drink. If you don't have any alcohol, it will consume your own biological energy instead. Alcohol is cheap, so it's best to use that.
Zhang Hao gave a wry smile. "I have a terrible tolerance. Two liang at most... anything more and I'm out!"
Not anymore. Your baseline alcohol tolerance will be ten jin of Baijiu. You won't get drunk until you exceed that!
Holy crap!
Zhang Hao was suddenly excited. He actually liked drinking, but his tolerance was so poor that he'd be out after just a little. He didn't dare drink much and had always envied people who could hold their liquor.
Only then did Zhang Hao realize what he'd forgotten to ask. "What does language proficiency mean?"
You'll find it easy to learn the languages of Blue Star. You can try it out.
Zhang Hao had given up on foreign languages long ago. He'd studied a little English, but had forgotten everything he'd learned. He could probably manage a greeting, then he'd be completely lost.
"Great!" Zhang Hao was delighted.
The final skill is knowledge of technology. With this knowledge, at least you won't be so ignorant!
Zhang Hao was so choked by that remark that his eyes nearly rolled back, but after thinking it over, he was still pleased. He could understand all sorts of things without studying—free knowledge!
Next, Mifeng didn't give him any more time to think.
Here's the list of people to control.
After receiving it, Zhang Hao skimmed through the list. The first person he needed to control was Wu Renbao, general manager of Qiao Toubao Company. Next was his driver, Cheng Yuan, followed by the directors of the company's various departments.
Zhang Hao had to carry out Mifeng's instructions.
It was easy enough. Zhang Hao sent a message asking Wu Renbao to bring the company's middle managers to Yuan Mountain Villa in a few days. They'd meet and shake hands, and that would take care of everything.
What surprised Zhang Hao was that as soon as he'd made up his mind, a file appeared on his phone and was sent to Wu Renbao automatically.
According to Mifeng, thanks to the Nano-machine, Zhang Hao had already gained quite a few abilities. For instance, he could connect to the internet without a phone or computer. Naturally, this required a network signal. Without one, he'd be just like a phone and wouldn't be able to get online.
There were also two other abilities. In fact, there was another one Mifeng hadn't told Zhang Hao about: the Nano-machine could cure illnesses and regulate his body, bringing it to peak condition.
After transferring the Nano-machine to the company's key personnel, Zhang Hao mostly left things alone. Mifeng issued all the instructions. They had as much money as they needed, and whenever they needed people, they could simply hire them.
After observing them for a while, Zhang Hao found that Wu Renbao had no idea the Nano-machine existed. Still, he'd changed: Wu Renbao had become utterly loyal to the company, and so had everyone else. The whole team was incredibly efficient and united.
They acquired two bankrupt factories, one a machinery plant and the other an electronics factory, and began rebuilding them. They poured in huge sums of money. Inside the original factory buildings, swarms of mechanical spiders bustled about, but nothing seemed to be happening outside. The company also hired some workers to handle the construction outside the buildings. Mechanical spiders wouldn't do for that—someone might spot them, and that would be trouble. Before long, both factories had been completely transformed.
One day, two heavy trucks drove into Yuan Mountain Villa and pulled up in front of Zhang Hao's villa. Huge wooden crates had already been laid out in the courtyard. They contained the machines meant for the machinery plant and the electronics factory.
A crane loaded the crates into the trucks. After the two trucks left, another pair arrived that afternoon. This went on for half a month, with four heavy trucks coming through every day to haul away a vast amount of machinery and equipment.
At last, even the property manager couldn't take it anymore. He came to ask Zhang Hao about it. He was at his wit's end. This was the most upscale villa community in Ningcheng, and heavy trucks had been coming and going all day. No one knew what they were hauling. Even moving house wouldn't require so many trucks.
The property manager shook hands with Zhang Hao. He was just about to ask a question when Zhang Hao grinned. "Manager Liu, come by tomorrow. I have something to take care of, so I'm heading out."
The property manager, Liu Feng, had no idea why, but after shaking hands with Zhang Hao, he'd gone completely meek. The other man felt like a powerful superior officer he'd once encountered during his military service. The question he'd been about to ask turned into just two words: "All right..."
The two security guards behind Liu Feng stared in amazement. Was this their manager? Since when had he become so easygoing?
Zhang Hao got into the car. Cheng Yuan closed the door before climbing in himself. He knew where Zhang Hao was headed. Today, they were going to the machinery factory.
Wuliang Machinery Factory!
Zhang Hao looked at the factory sign and was at a loss for words. "Who came up with this factory's name?"
Cheng Yuan glanced at Zhang Hao in surprise. "Chairman, wasn't it you who named it?"
Zhang Hao reacted quickly and laughed. "Right, right... I've been so busy I forgot." He knew perfectly well that this had to be Mifeng's doing. Wuliang? What a strange name. Just like the company's name—it was actually called Qiao Toubao, which sounded completely unreliable. He complained to himself as he looked out the car window.
The security guard at the entrance saw the car and waved it through immediately. He already knew it belonged to the company chairman.
The factory grounds were empty. A huge, two-story white building stood there. The car stopped in front, and Zhang Hao went inside alone.
As soon as he entered the factory, Mifeng's instructions came through.
You can go in and activate the factory now!
Zhang Hao asked curiously, "Why aren't there any workers here?"
There's no need for workers. This is a fully automated production facility, and we don't do business with the public!
"Huh?"
What do you mean, "Huh"? We're producing things for our own use!
What an overbearingly confident answer.
Zhang Hao thought about it and realized it made sense. There was no need to make money. What could earn money faster than the stock and futures markets? Recently, through Wu Renbao, they'd set up a large number of futures accounts overseas and started reaping the wealth of other countries, so they weren't short of money.
Thinking about the factory's name, Wuliang, he realized it really was fitting. No sales meant no volume, after all.
