Baron Mordo was slightly taken aback.
The mages of Kamar-Taj had to establish contact with magical entities from other dimensions of the multiverse in order to obtain energy and cast spells successfully.
The orthodox mages drew their power from the Vishanti Trinity.
Since Agamotto, the first Sorcerer Supreme, established the Three Sanctums, countless millennia had passed. No one could say how many mages there actually were on Earth.
Kamar-Taj and the Three Sanctums were not the only places with mages.
Some left, and some betrayed them.
Some did not want to shoulder the responsibility of protecting Earth, while others defected to the enemy. Traitors were everywhere.
The Vishanti Trinity was no longer the only source of power, either.
Some contacted Dormammu of the Dark Dimension, wielding its power to gain greater strength and so-called "immortality."
Others contacted several hells, obtaining power from hell itself or its lords, such as Mephisto.
Some had even made contact with the even more terrifying Crimson Cosmos.
But how many of them could earn the Sorcerer Supreme's attention, or even vigilance?
Ordinary traitors and deserters were naturally dealt with by the mages of the Three Sanctums—killed or monitored.
Earth faced many terrifying threats at every moment, but only those from the multiverse drew the Sorcerer Supreme's attention.
Such as Dormammu, Odin, and Thanos.
The Hulk, who had appeared in recent years, and the Ghost Rider, who had always been around, did not qualify.
And now one had actually appeared on Earth?
"Even you can't find him? The whole Earth is within your sight," Baron Mordo said, confused.
Was there really someone even the Sorcerer Supreme could not find?
"A peculiar power, or a powerful artifact, has interfered with my spells. I cannot pinpoint him accurately."
Ancient One remained as calm as ever. "Powerful beings can interfere with spells. Thanos and Odin, for example. But even if Odin came himself, he could not escape my eyes. Heimdall looks at Kamar-Taj every day, and I look at Asgard as well."
Mordo froze.
He finally realized the severity of the problem.
Could a being even stronger than Odin be active on Earth?
"If even you cannot find him, how can the New York Sanctum find him?" Mordo asked.
"The Three Sanctums form Earth's protective net. The power Agamotto left within them is far greater than mine. Dormammu's attacks are becoming more frequent, and Hela, Malekith, Laufey, and Surtur are all threats to Earth. I cannot afford to divide my attention."
Ancient One said, "Every time that being opens a Time-Space Channel, it causes fluctuations in time and space. It is equivalent to providing a set of coordinates. Though the signal is disrupted, each occurrence provides vague data. The more data we gather, the more accurate the location will become."
"He moves. He might not stay in the same place," Mordo said with a frown.
"If he keeps changing locations, we will not be able to find him. But if he frequently remains in one place, or several places, we can lock onto him," Ancient One said.
Mordo fell silent for two seconds before asking, "What should we do if we find him?"
"Observe."
Ancient One said, "Observe his every move. Assess his abilities and conduct. Determine whether he poses a threat to this world, whether he is an enemy or a friend. Then I will go see him myself."
Mordo let out a breath of relief.
With those words from the Sorcerer Supreme, he was at ease.
He was willing to die to protect Earth, but a being likely stronger than Dormammu and Odin was not someone he was qualified to fight. Such a death would be meaningless.
"Then could you give us a more precise area? It would make the New York Sanctum's search easier. You are the most powerful mage since Agamotto, Earth's true guardian. Even if you cannot pinpoint him exactly, I trust you can tell us which city he is in," Mordo requested.
"I already told you."
Ancient One's expression did not change. "North America."
Inside the Heart of Azeroth.
The Azeroth Fifth Ring Road opened and closed a few seconds later. A bottle appeared in Old Wang's hand.
His expression was somewhat strange.
Because this bottle looked very familiar.
It was a palm-sized crystal magic bottle imbued with powerful permanent magic. Anything placed inside would not change with the passage of time.
Quite an impressive spell.
The magic of Illidan—the "traitor," "Demon Hunter," "King of Outland," "child of light and darkness," "warden of Sargeras," "loser in a love triangle," "master of little yellow flowers," and "the man defeated by bananas."
Before becoming a Demon Hunter, he had been a mage, one of the most gifted mages of World of Warcraft's ancient era. Naturally, his magic was impressive.
Before the Well of Eternity exploded, he had filled seven bottles with the essence of its waters.
This was one of those bottles...
Or rather, what remained of one.
Simply put, the well-water essence had already been used. This bottle was empty.
There was, of course, a tiny residue left, clinging to the inside of the bottle. Very little—at most one gram altogether.
Old Wang could even tell from the lingering aura that this bottle had been taken from Kael'thas. He had no idea which timeline's Kael'thas it had come from.
Such a large bottle had suddenly vanished.
Surprised? Unexpected?
"0.11 grams of Azeroth Blood in exchange for nearly one gram of well-water essence, plus an Illidan-made Well of Eternity Bottle..."
Not bad. The delivery fee was not expensive.
The Well of Eternity Bottle itself was also a fine magical item. It could be used to hold liquor.
Once he had money, it would be nice to exchange for a few barrels of alcohol.
Corin's Thunderbrew Lager, Old Chen's Stormstout, Courageous Brew, Carefree Brew, Elusive Brew, Invigorating Brew, Tiger Eye Brew, Tiger Penis Brew, and Bloodthistle Brew all had magical effects. They were made specifically for Monks.
Later, I'll exchange for some erguotou. A little sip every day, and before long I'll definitely be stronger than Captain America...
Old Wang was very satisfied.
The waters of the Well of Eternity had nourished all life across Azeroth. Naturally, they could nourish his... body and soul as well.
There were still 0.77 grams of Azeroth Blood left. He would exchange them when necessary.
"Oh, right."
Old Wang suddenly remembered a very serious question. "Will anyone notice when the Time-Space Channel opens?"
Odin sat secure in Asgard.
Dormammu was in another dimension.
Thanos was too far away.
The one he was truly worried about was Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme.
She was Earth's guardian, a true powerhouse. Her status was similar to Aegwynn and Medivh's on Azeroth, and her strength was certainly no joke.
If she discovered him...
It seemed like it would not really matter?
Ancient One seems like a decent person. I'm not some big villain, so she has no reason to come after me. At most, she'd keep me under surveillance, but that still wouldn't feel great...
"Opening a Time-Space Channel causes fluctuations in time and space."
The young lady said, "I use several hundred tons of blood to interfere and disguise it, and the Heart of Azeroth itself can interfere as well. Even if this world has a spellcaster on Norgannon's level, they still would not be able to accurately pinpoint it in one go. But the more often the Time-Space Channel is opened, and the longer it remains open, the easier it becomes to locate."
Old Wang nodded.
He understood.
Until his strength reached a certain level, he simply needed to open it as little as possible.
There was actually nothing to fear.
Even someone on Norgannon's level could not pinpoint it accurately. No matter how formidable Ancient One was, she was still far inferior to Norgannon—several tiers below him.
At this point in time, Ancient One was the only person on Earth he needed to be wary of.
He just had to be careful.
"See you around, young lady."
Old Wang waved and left the Heart of Azeroth.
