Old Wang slammed on the brakes, and Skye crashed into the front seat.
"Wang!"
Skye rubbed her forehead. It hurt.
She hurriedly checked the laptop in her arms. It was fine. Patting her chest, she let out a long breath.
"Thank goodness!"
All four tires on this car needed replacing. If they did not want to get into an accident, they would also have to take it to a repair shop for a thorough overhaul. The clutch, brakes, and other parts would all need work, and it needed gas too. That was another huge expense. A thousand dollars was clearly not enough.
The car was ruined, but they could not let the tool of her trade get ruined too!
Otherwise, she really would not have money to buy another computer.
"Wang, you're paying for the repairs!" Skye was heartbroken.
This trip had been a massive loss!
She had not earned a single cent and had even spent so much money—
She had paid for all the gas along the way.
"Do I look like I have money?"
Old Wang lifted his eyelids, glanced at Skye's chest, and thought, So that's what shockwaves meant. He shifted in his seat. "You drive."
You're finally willing to spare me... and my car?
Why are you being so nice?
Skye eyed Old Wang suspiciously. Afraid he would change his mind, she snapped the laptop shut, pressed both hands against the front seat, and launched herself from the back seat into the driver's seat. It took less than three seconds, faster than any athlete. Then she froze. "Since when was I this agile?"
"When money hurts."
Old Wang ignored her, leaned back in the passenger seat, and closed his eyes.
A pulling force came over him. His soul was drawn into the Heart of Azeroth, arriving in a giant's temple:
Towering and majestic.
The circular temple was open to the sky. Looking up, he could see a constantly shifting, overlapping starry sky and void. Looking down, he saw a spherical seal. Dots of starlight glittered within it, connected by strands of light. Energy so dense it had reached the extreme shifted like liquid, as though it possessed no definite form—
That was the purified soul of the Titan Argus.
Titans were planetary lifeforms. A Titan's soul was the soul of a planet, a world-soul—the collection of all the soul energy on the entire planet.
The entire temple was forged from an unknown material, something even Titans themselves found difficult to destroy.
There were seven seats in total, belonging to the Pantheon's seven Titans: Aman'Thul, Sargeras, Eonar, Norgannon, Khaz'goroth, Golganneth, and Aggramar.
Not one of them was here now.
The seven seats formed most of a circle, with one section missing—just enough room for two more seats. One belonged to the purified Argus, while the other belonged to the not-yet-grown Azeroth.
This was not the Pantheon from World of Warcraft, merely a projection imprinted within the Heart of Azeroth.
The scenery was not bad.
Of course, he was not here to admire the scenery. He had more important things to do.
A cluster of starlight gathered and transformed into the form of a little girl. She was neither human nor elf, nor any other mortal race.
She was a Titan, in soul form.
Though she looked like a little girl, she was enormous. Old Wang was not even as tall as her calf.
She wore a beautiful white princess dress, a style Old Wang had designed back then. Both human and elven women loved wearing it. It was cool, breathable, and pretty. He had not expected Azeroth to like it too. The last time, she had worn a cheongsam. It had only been eighteen years, and she had already changed styles. Women really changed clothes faster than they changed boyfriends.
If not for some mysterious force blocking him, Old Wang could have seen beneath her skirt just by raising his eyes.
The little girl lowered her head to look at Old Wang, who was like a little raccoon, and smiled as though she had found her favorite toy. Bending down, she scooped him into her palm and raised him to eye level. Blinking, she said, "Wang, you're finally awake? I waited for you for eighteen years! No one talked to me, I was bored to death!"
"You're the one who finally woke up, Azeroth." Old Wang sighed, bent at the waist, lowered his head, and clasped his hands in respect.
Yes, this little girl was the Titan Azeroth, the most promising Titan in history.
While she was still asleep, her emerald dream had already spread across the entire universe. If she grew up and matured, she would inevitably become the most powerful being in the Pantheon, perhaps even stronger than Aman'Thul and Sargeras.
Old Wang's ten years of effort in World of Warcraft had all been for the sake of saving—training—her.
"I wasn't asleep. This is my projection; my real body is still asleep! You know, us Titans are immortal. Our life cycle is as long as the universe's. One nap can last tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of years. That's good too. I won't get too bored."
Azeroth smiled beautifully, her large eyes fluttering. "Aman'Thul and Norgannon actually succeeded. You really traveled to another unknown universe. I thought it would fail!"
Old Wang: "..."
So you used me as an experiment?
Norgannon clearly said there was definitely no problem!
"You were the one who wanted to go home. Weren't we doing this for you? Although it failed and you traveled to another universe, at least it proved the Time-Space Channel was viable... Alright, alright, you can travel through it again. Maybe it'll work this time..."
Azeroth's voice grew softer and softer, and her head lowered further and further, like a child who had done something wrong.
Don't blame me, don't blame me. If you're blaming anyone, blame Aman'Thul and Norgannon.
They were the ones who came up with cross-universe time-space travel!
"Ugh!" Old Wang let out a long sigh.
What else could he say?
He could not beat her, so he could only accept his loss!
"Enough nonsense. Open the Time-Space Channel immediately. I'm going home!" Old Wang waved a hand.
Since he had not died the first time he traveled through it, he probably would not die the second time either.
He had been away from home for twenty-eight years. He missed it terribly.
Of course, he had spent eighteen years in this world, made new friends, and built a new life. He was quite attached to it and reluctant to leave. The wonders of the Marvel World were still worth experiencing. At the very least, he had to let Thanos snap and let Hela have her fun, right?
It was fine. If he wanted to come back, he could just travel through it again.
"Um... there's no blood left... No, I mean, there's no mana left..." Azeroth's voice dropped even lower.
"What?" Old Wang's voice suddenly became shrill.
No blood left?
The Heart of Azeroth was a Supreme Artifact jointly forged by the Titans of the Pantheon. Only the Essence of Azeroth could power it—that was Azeroth Blood, Titan blood, the source of energy for the entire planet Azeroth!
All living creatures on Azeroth were parasites on Titan Miss's body, eating her flesh and drinking her blood...
Whether it was the early Well of Eternity, the later Sunwell, or Azerite, they were all essentially the Essence of Azeroth, merely diluted forms of it.
True Azeroth Blood was the purest liquid energy essence.
Old Wang still remembered that eighteen years ago, Azeroth Miss had personally produced enough blood to fill Yunlong Lake and poured it into the Heart of Azeroth. It had been his reward, as well as the source of energy for traveling through time and space to return home.
As for which part of her body it had come from, Old Wang had no idea.
Titans were not humans. Fingertip blood, tongue-tip blood, arterial blood, venous blood—they were probably all the same. It did not matter, as long as it was not menstrual blood.
No, Titans probably did not even have human biological traits.
Even if she did, Miss was still so young. She had not developed that far yet, right?
That much Azeroth Blood could have created who knew how many Sunwells. It was all used up?
"I remember Norgannon saying that the blood you gave was enough for ten trips!" Old Wang stared intensely.
He clenched his fists.
He wanted to punch that white-bearded old man.
