Background / History

Skye was abandoned as a child and repeatedly adopted under different names before choosing “Skye” as her own identity. Her search for the parents she believed had abandoned her drove her to learn hacking and join Rising Tide. She became a first-class hacker within the organization, though she initially considered herself below its top members. 2 17 66 147

Three years before the Heart of Azeroth search, Skye saw Old Wang defeat several attackers. Having been bullied for lacking parents, she asked him to teach her martial arts so that she could protect herself. Wang accepted her as his first disciple and encouraged her to learn Chinese because one of her parents was Chinese. 2

Skye spent three years tracing the Heart of Azeroth through her hacking skills, ultimately locating it in Los Angeles. Wang promised to help find her parents in exchange for her assistance retrieving it, beginning their partnership and journey from New York to Los Angeles. 2 3

Wang later revealed that Skye was an Inhuman: the daughter of Cal Zabo and Jia Ying. Jia Ying had been subjected to Hydra experimentation involving the Obelisk, while Skye was taken away by S.H.I.E.L.D. amid Hydra’s influence. Her parents spent years searching for her after Jia Ying was dismembered by Whitehall and restored by Cal. 113 114

At a Kree temple in San Juan, Skye underwent Terrigenesis by activating an Obelisk. The released Terrigen Mist encased her in a black cocoon and awakened her seismic abilities; her initial uncontrolled shockwaves helped collapse the ancient underground city. Wang teleported her to safety. 115 116

After learning the truth of her origins, Skye sought justice against Whitehall and later reunited with Cal. She retained the name “Skye” rather than accepting “Daisy Johnson,” explaining that Skye represented the life and identity she had built for herself. 123 145 148

Gordon later brought Skye to Afterlife at Jia Ying’s request. There, Lincoln stated that she had awakened two abilities, an unprecedented occurrence in Inhuman history. Skye reunited with both parents and eventually became Jia Ying’s successor after defeating Lash. 154 156 230 334

Following an alliance between Earth’s Inhumans and Attilan, Skye joined the Inhuman royal family as the Inhuman Queen of Earth. She was subsequently elected leader of Afterlife. 333 334

By the time of the Chitauri conflict, Skye served as the overall commander of Shengun Bureau forces, directing Black Bolt, Shou-Lao, Ghost Rider, and allied personnel in space combat. 397

Later, Skye absorbed Gravitonium and became Graviton in addition to Quake. When Wang prepared to leave the universe, she chose to remain with her parents, friends, and responsibilities rather than accompany him. 535

Personality

Skye is independent, confident, stubborn, outgoing, and skilled at dealing with people. Her early determination stemmed from the pain of being abandoned and her desire to confront the parents she believed had left her behind. 2

She is practical and outspoken, often challenging Wang’s spending, plans, and recklessness. Despite this, she deeply trusts him, considers him her only family before reconnecting with her parents, and grows increasingly affectionate toward him. 7 45 97 115
