• Ego fathered millions of children, but none inherited his genes, so he had many of them and their mothers killed.
• Yondu stopped bringing Ego children after discovering that they were dead, while Ego continued using others to collect descendants.
• After hearing of Star-Lord’s deeds, Ego found him and brought him back, believing his son could inherit his power and help spread Ego’s Flower.
• Star-Lord opposed Ego and planted a bomb in his planetary heart, destroying Ego’s nervous system and leaving the planet on the verge of destruction.
• As Ego accepted his death, someone carried him through the explosion zone and into outer space.

Star-Lord mourned Yondu’s sacrifice until Old Wang rescued them both and restored Yondu aboard the spaceship. Old Wang then investigated Ego’s nature and absorbed the destroyed planet into the Heart of Azeroth, replenishing its blood and preparing to activate more Titan functions.
