A difference in status!
The words Ximen Li had been holding back were immediately choked off.
No matter what, he had never expected Qin Shaofeng to speak of such a difference in status.
He would nurture him into the third most important person in the sect.
Or rather, aside from the ancestor who would only step forward to die when the faction faced destruction, Qin Shaofeng would need bow his head to no one but him.
Yet in the Seven Stars Sect, he was merely an ordinary disciple whom no one thought highly of.
Ximen Li did not know much about Qin Shaofeng, but he knew Qin Shaofeng was not fiercely loyal to the Seven Stars Sect. With such a vast disparity before him, the choice did not seem all that surprising.
What he did not know was that while Qin Shaofeng cared about resources, he did not care nearly as much as Ximen Li imagined.
There was, however, one point that was exactly as Ximen Li had just imagined.
Qin Shaofeng had brought up the difference in status because Ximen Li's words had indeed moved him.
They were both upper-tier forces.
If he could become the hidden sect master of the Chasing Stars Sect, then he would become a second-tier figure in the Land of Shining Stars. Other than a handful of people from Super Grade Powers, he would have no need to care about anyone.
That would make helping the Vast Void Realm far, far easier.
He could even use that identity to search for the others. Fatty Ge, Lone Wolf, Sha Pojun—there had still been no news of any of them.
However.
What none of them knew was that while their plans were sound, the sudden emergence of a certain matter would render this matter nearly impossible.
