"Hey!" Zhou Ze shouted as he ran past the boy for the fifth time. "Could you hurry up already?" He no longer cared whether he was disturbing him. All he knew was that he was about to run out of strength.
After running for a while, he glanced back at the wall. This time, though, the two enraged shadows weren't chasing after him.
"What's going on?"
Zhou Ze immediately turned and ran toward the boy. The boy had already gotten to his feet and was leaning against the wall with one hand, looking weak. But on closer inspection, his hand was clamped tightly around a shadow. After a while, the shadow's struggles grew weaker and weaker, until it stopped moving.
"You're okay?" Zhou Ze's heart leaped with joy. How could he not understand? The boy had helped him deal with the shadows chasing him.
But when the boy turned to look at him, a chill suddenly ran down the back of Zhou Ze's head. He took half a step back.
Blue veins covered the boy's face, and his pupils were so red they looked ready to bleed. Just based on his appearance, he was even more terrifying than the people closing in on them.
But the boy's shadow was still on the wall. Zhou Ze swallowed and nervously stepped forward. "Y-you okay? Do you need me to help?"
"I found that guy," the boy muttered to himself.
"Who do you mean?" Zhou Ze couldn't help asking. "Who did you find?"
Seeing that the boy was too weak to stay on his feet and was about to collapse, Zhou Ze hurried over and caught him. He grabbed the boy's hand, intending to carry him on his back, but the sensation under his palm made him look down.
