"Wouldn't we be breaking the rules if we made a move?" The fat man sounded a little shaken.

Jiang Cheng nodded. "It seems that way."

The atmosphere in the other wing was much heavier.

Jia Jinliang's expression grew darker. His right fist, resting on the table, clenched involuntarily. "I never expected... the person who died would be Zhang Junyu. How could it have been him?"

A Biao sat across from Jia Jinliang. "Boss, it's obvious. Master Yu didn't save him." He paused, then lowered his voice. "The others all survived. I think Master Yu must have a way to identify the real paper figure, but he chose not to do it. He watched Zhang Junyu die on purpose."

A vicious glint flashed in Jia Jinliang's eyes. "That old bastard must have figured something out—some important clue about this mission. But he didn't tell us. Getting rid of Zhang Junyu was just his way of making sure no one got in his way."

"He also blinded the eyes we planted by his side," A Biao reminded him quietly. "Master Yu is a shrewd man. He's probably found out about what went on between us and Zhang Junyu."

Catching A Biao's meaning, Jia Jinliang grew wary. "You mean... Yu Chengmu is going to make a move against us too?"

"Not for now, but..." A Biao lowered his voice. "We can't let our guard down. You know Master Yu better than anyone, Boss. You tried to recruit him before, but his former boss—the one who backed him—refused. And what happened?"

A Biao took a deep breath. "That man disappeared. No one saw him alive or dead. People in our line of work say the authorities dug up something from his past, so he fled the country illegally. But I don't believe it."
