The coffin lid loosened again. The strength of a single Paper Figure was no longer enough to hold down whatever was inside.
"Hurry!" Jia Jinliang shouted, feigning panic. "Ring the bell! We're about to lose control!"
Lei Mingyu was ready. The only thing he was worried about now was who would take over for him.
"Time's up, Lei Mingyu!" Chen Hao urged him, his voice strained with pain. "Don't let whatever's in the coffin get out. Forget everything else—ring the bell!"
Lei Mingyu steeled himself and turned to Jiang Cheng, but before he could speak, Jiang Cheng rushed over and grabbed his wrist.
"Don't move!" Jiang Cheng shouted. "If you ring the bell, you'll die!"
Lei Mingyu froze. Then Du Moyu's voice rang out. "Don't listen to him! He's a liar! Ring the bell! If you don't, we'll all die!"
Lei Mingyu instinctively struggled, but Jiang Cheng was surprisingly strong.
"The Chen Hao and Du Moyu you see now have already been possessed. Their souls are inside the Paper Figures up ahead. If you ring the bell, your soul will be taken too." Jiang Cheng spoke quickly. "You've all been tricked!"
At Jiang Cheng's words, Lei Mingyu clearly hesitated. He looked toward the coffin, and in the next instant, a Paper Figure standing to its right suddenly lunged forward and pressed down on the lid, which was about to be thrown open.
It took both Paper Figures working together to finally hold down whatever was inside the coffin.
"See? These two Paper Figures are your teammates!" Jiang Cheng continued. "Otherwise, why would they save us?"
"Lei Mingyu, don't listen to him! He's the one who's been possessed. He's the ghost!" Chen Hao pointed at Jiang Cheng and roared furiously.
