"Ghost?" The eldest young master's voice trembled despite himself. A moment later, he asked in a tone of confirmation, "How could it be a ghost? I clearly heard A Bin's voice. Master Yao, do you... do you have proof?"
As soon as he heard this, Yao Shunyu felt sure of one thing: the key to surviving tonight lay with the eldest young master. As long as he could convince him that the A Bin outside was a ghost, the danger would be over.
Without hesitation, Yao Shunyu quickly explained what he had discovered. The eldest young master began to tremble as he listened. "So... the A Bin outside really isn't human? He's... he's a ghost?"
"That must be it." Yao Shunyu nodded.
The situation grew more dangerous by the moment. "A Bin" had already thrust his entire arm inside, slapping at the door as he struggled to squeeze his head through the crack. His face had twisted out of shape from being pressed so hard.
"Get lost! Get out of here! You dog of a servant— even if you've turned into a ghost, I'm not afraid of you!" The eldest young master roared at the door until his voice was hoarse.
Yao Shunyu thought the eldest young master's roar was little more than bluster, but it clearly worked. The menacing "A Bin" immediately froze at the sound of his voice, then pulled his arm back and walked away as if nothing had happened.
"Eldest young master, your words worked. The ghost has left." Yao Shunyu looked at the somewhat misshapen door, unable to stop a wave of lingering fear from washing over him.
"Cough... cough, cough..."
That roar seemed to have drained the last of the eldest young master's strength. He was so weak that he collapsed onto the bed
