The pounding from the cabin was slow, but every blow seemed to land on Old Fisherman and the others' hearts. Their breathing grew ragged, their hearts pounded as if they would burst, and, even more terrifyingly, the cabin door trembled with every blow.
At that very moment! They could all picture it perfectly: in the low cabin, too cramped for anyone to stand upright, a corpse wearing armor from the Former Dynasty was crouched behind the door, raising its stiff arm and pounding on it again and again.
The thought alone was terrifying. The old man was the first to rush over and press himself against the cabin door. Then he roared at everyone, "What are you waiting for? Get over here! Are you all just going to wait to die?!"
His shout jolted everyone into action. One after another, they rushed over and braced the door with their hands, shoulders, even their whole bodies, keeping whatever was inside from getting out.
They had no idea what the thing underwater was, and even if they did, they probably couldn't do anything about it. But if the creature in the cabin got out, every single person on the boat would die!
"What do we do? What do we do?" The skinny man pressed his shoulder hard against the trembling door, his face contorted with fear.
Old Fisherman cursed inwardly. How was he supposed to know what to do? This was everyone's first time in this situation. They could only take things one step at a time and pray for a miracle.
And though the corpse in the cabin was certainly strange, he had a feeling the real source of the trouble was that thing underwater.
What terrified him even more was that the thing could change the direction of the underwater
