"Run!"
Someone shouted, and the scene immediately descended into chaos. Plates crashed to the floor, and people scrambled to flee.
But Tang Qisheng didn't move. He remained where he was and reached out to grab Zhu Jie, trying to keep her still, too.
Fortunately, Zhu Jie made the same choice as he did. The two of them stood hand in hand, facing the wall. No matter how strange the sounds behind them became, they didn't move.
They had both clearly heard that shout. It hadn't come from either of them.
But someone really had run. The monster behind them chased after the fleeing person, its strange, rapid scraping sounds receding into the distance and making their scalps prickle.
A moment later, Tang Qisheng and Zhu Jie suddenly grew excited. Light gradually appeared in the darkness before them. Their eyesight was returning!
After a few more minutes, their vision had recovered to about fifty or sixty percent. Things were still blurry, but at least they could find their way back to their room.
But the moment they turned around, the sight before them made them shudder. Bloody handprints covered the floor, the walls, and even the ceiling.
The handprints were tiny; anyone could tell they belonged to children. But what sort of monster could have left so many bloody prints?
Some freak with children's hands growing all over its body?
This was no place to linger. After taking one last look at the operating room, Tang Qisheng took Zhu Jie by the hand, and they followed the route they remembered back the way they had come.
