They had been pressed for time before and hadn't been able to think the matter through. But now it seemed that the Purple Gold Bowl was more than just a bridge connecting his world with Tang Qisheng's. It also held vital significance for the world where Li Bai and Yao Shunyu lived.
"Go back. To the dean's lab!" After Jiang Cheng made his decision, everyone quickly turned back.
The underground world was now in ruins, with barely a single passable path. Fortunately, Tang Qisheng had inherited some of the dean's abilities. Using the blood eye, he led everyone through the rubble with difficulty.
Now and then, a few blind child ghosts that had managed to cling to life darted out of the shadows, but Wu swiftly cut them down.
After breaking through two sturdy iron doors in succession, everyone followed Wu into the laboratory. Compared with the other rooms, this one was still relatively intact. But to their surprise, the rag doll was there too. It had lifted a huge rock in both hands and was about to smash the large vat.
"Stop him!"
Jiang Cheng had barely spoken when the sound of blades tearing through the air rang out. The rag doll's arms were severed at the shoulders, and when the huge rock fell, it landed squarely on its feet.
Wu strode forward and planted a foot on the rag doll's struggling body.
"What are you doing here?" Jiang Cheng demanded. "Why were you trying to smash this vat?"
The rag doll was stubbornly tight-lipped. No matter how they questioned it, it wouldn't utter a sound. Wu simply kicked it in the head, reuniting father and son.
Tang Qisheng ran a hand over the vat, seemingly sensing something. Blood tears streamed from his blood eye. "I can feel it.
