"I don't understand what you mean," Suit Man said gently. "Is there anything unusual after dark?"

The woman turned her head, looking at him with a very strange gaze.

Suit Man didn't avoid her gaze, smiling and meeting her eyes until the woman looked away. She then turned and left the old dormitory building.

She didn't say anything.

The Middle-aged man in the tank top wanted to chase after her and ask a few more questions, but the woman was like a ghost. Her pace didn't seem fast, yet she disappeared around a corner.

"Where did she go?" the middle-aged man, who had been on the verge of a breakdown, trembled and asked. He couldn't understand the world he was in at all, and couldn't figure out how a living person could vanish in the blink of an eye.

"If you're curious, chase after her and ask," the Hat Man, a young man chewing gum, glanced dismissively at the Middle-aged man. "Maybe she'll take you with her."

The man, having been rebuffed, could clearly feel the dissatisfaction from everyone else, so he stopped talking and obediently followed behind them.

The further they walked, the clearer the feeling became.

That eerie and strange atmosphere constantly surrounded them, as if there were a pair of blood-red eyes in the darkness, bloodshot and staring at them intently.

But they couldn't find them.

A dark and damp smell hit them, mixed with the scent of mold and something unidentifiable.

The sides of the corridor were filled with miscellaneous items, so they could only walk down the middle.

After finding the stairs on the right, they carefully ascended.

This dormitory building gave off a truly terrible feeling. Black mold and dark yellow stains covered the walls everywhere.

Piles of unknown flocculent material lay on the ground, looking like they had been abandoned for a long time.

Fatty frowned and leaned closer, as if wanting to say something, but was stopped by Jiang Cheng.

He took a quick step forward, putting some distance between himself and Fatty.

The girl in the dinosaur pajamas hid in the middle of the group, her eyes red. She rubbed her arm and mumbled softly, "This place looks so creepy. Did something bad happen here?"

The Hat Man, adjusting his tilted hat, sneered, "In my opinion, something bad definitely happened. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been abandoned."

"Did something happen here?" the middle-aged man in the tank top's eyes flickered.

The Hat Man's lips curled into a flippant smirk. He then deliberately lowered his voice and said mysteriously, "Maybe someone died here."

Hearing that someone might have died here, the middle-aged man in the tank top and several others in the group shivered violently. The girl in the dinosaur pajamas started sobbing again.

She could have cried harder, but perhaps worried about attracting something with her loud cries, she suppressed it with all her might. Yet, tears were already streaming down her face.

But this was not the real world, where there were so many people overflowing with sympathy.

Or rather, those people overflowing with sympathy had all died miserably in previous missions.

Even the Suit Man, who had maintained his refined image, couldn't help but show a hint of disgust. Although he quickly concealed this subtle disgust and resumed his calm demeanor, it didn't escape Jiang Cheng's eyes.

"Suit brother!" Jiang Cheng called out.

Suit Man turned his head, looking at Jiang Cheng with confusion. "What is it?"

"I think you're a really good person," Jiang Cheng said to him with great sincerity. "Teaming up with you will significantly increase all of our chances of survival. You're not only optimistic, but also very helpful."

Suit Man was stunned for a moment. He thought about it and didn't seem to understand the meaning behind Jiang Cheng's sudden words. However, he found them quite pleasing, as they helped him maintain his persona.

"It's nothing," Suit Man nodded and smiled. "Since we've met, it's fate. I will do my best to lead everyone safely out of here."

Fatty heard Jiang Cheng praise someone for the first time and a bad premonition surfaced in his heart.

"Well said," Jiang Cheng praised. Then he turned to the newcomers, including the girl in the dinosaur pajamas and the middle-aged man in the tank top. "Brother Suit has made his stance clear. Why don't you hurry over to Brother Suit's side? He'll protect you!"

Suit Man: "???"

Fatty: "...I feel like I've seen this plot before."

Almost instantly, several people swarmed to Suit Man's side. The dinosaur girl, though appearing frail, was the first to reach Suit Man, grabbing his left arm.

Another newcomer, a man, was slightly slower and managed to grab his right arm.

Perhaps due to his age, the middle-aged man in the tank top reacted a beat slower.

By the time he reached them, the good spots next to Suit Man had already been taken. He could only stretch out his arm and grab Suit Man's collar.

And so, Suit Man was pushed to the very front, unable to retreat, and what's more, he was still comforting everyone in his gentle tone.

They finally reached the fourth floor. The Suit Man used the excuse of needing to get a key to shake off the people who seemed to be stuck to him.

His face was flushed. Besides being squeezed too hard, the rest of the reason should be because of Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng was currently looking at him with admiration, genuinely thinking he was a good person.

"Alright," the Suit Man said. "Since you all trust me so much, I'll assign the rooms next."

Under the Suit Man's arrangement, the woman in the qipao and the girl in the dinosaur pajamas would stay in Room 407, the middle-aged man in the tank top, the new male, and another darker-skinned woman would stay in Room 406, while he and the Hat Man would stay in 405.

He looked at them one by one, and when his gaze landed on Jiang Cheng, his smile became insincere. "Brother, I see you and the fat brother next to you already know each other, so you two can stay in Room 404."

404, it sounded unlucky.

Fatty was about to refuse when Jiang Cheng patted his shoulder and agreed with an extremely relaxed and cheerful attitude.

It was evident that besides Fatty, others were also unhappy with their assigned rooms. However, it was getting dark, so even if they were dissatisfied, they could only return to their rooms.

After all, having a door in front of them was ultimately safer than standing foolishly in the eerie corridor.

After getting the key and opening the door, even though he was prepared, the scene inside still greatly surprised Fatty.
